Are these wipes safe for TPE?

Post by LokianGOP »

I just got my girl and I've been cleaning her openings with this: https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/nice! ... actjs=true
It says bleach free and no alchohol. Are these TPE safe?

No! If you read the warnings I wouldn’t go anywhere near these! The residue left may harm the TPE but it sure as hell is going to harm you too! I would just use some antibacterial sensitive skin hand soap on a sponge if I were you!

Cheers, Hollows.

They should at least be ok for you! Some wipes have alcohol in them but, on the whole, they are fine in my opinion. I use a brand called “Simple” occasionally but the ingredients seem less than simple! They claim to be moisturising and good for newborns and are hypoallergenic and alcohol free. However, I haven’t a clue whether some of the ingredients are good for TPE or not! They sound worse than they probably are! At least I know they aren’t going to hurt me! All I can say is just use wipes sparingly rather than using them to wipe all over.

If you really think she needs cleaning, a shower or bath with some antibacterial handsoap is probably better than doing a major wipe over with wipes. You can always put a towel underneath her and use some hand soap on a damp sponge of course! You can then rinse the sponge out and wipe her again to remove as much soap as you can and pat her dry with a towel or cloth!

The problem with that (and maybe with wipes as well) is that any powder that gets ‘wet’ will go all clumpy into sort of cheesy lumps! If you can, brush off any excess powder in the area you’re going to wash or wipe first! Don’t forget to powder her again when she’s dry!

Cheers, Hollows.
