Care Advice please.

Post by B_B_Bouchard »

I could really use some help. I just ordered my first doll, TPE, and i'm having a hard time finding real yes or no's on what soaps are working or not with this material. If anyone can comment on either what they have been having success with or whats caused serious drying out issues i would greatly appreciate it.

Hi BB. ----> Welcome <----

What type if soap you choose is really not too much of a concern with TPE. Maybe stick to the simple dish soap or anti-bacterial type. I use lemon Dawn, or equivalent. Alcohol is not recommended.

Here are two topics which are recommended for TPE care..

Also Dawn soap
They use it to wash oil coated ducks, so it's gotta be good!
recommended by 4 out of 5 ducks.

i have a D4E, they simply recommand soft hand soap
i've chosen the brand "petit marseillais" as it is anti bacterial and ph neutral :)
moreover, with essential oils, it leave a very soft flower scent

I use the sponge bath method to clean my dolls. A little less than a teaspoon of Dawn mixed in roughly a half gallon of warm water, then pat them dry with a soft towel. Seems to work pretty well.

CC and I shower together, we both use a liquid bodywash that he gets from Costco. Almost any mild liquid soap, a diluted dish liquid or a bodywash will work just fine!
Cheers! and have fun!
