Zang wrote:One thing I remember Wetsuit for was making a couple of delightful videos of his Teddy Babes playing guitars (or mandolins, or what have you). Unfortunately, I just checked our forum archives, and it seems the links for those videos are now broken.

Oh, well... here's Cordie next to one fine instrument of Jo's (I don't think she played this one in the video):
Thanks for pointing that out, Zang. I have a message to Pit_viper in hopes he still has them on his server. I can't imagine him just deleting all the existing videos form moonport.org when he upgraded his site. let's keep the fingers crossed. Also there is G.. He may also have copies.

CoverDoll now has its own player so you can upload flv files directly to it. That way they will always be with the post.

I just got word this morning of jo (wetsuit) passing away. I was shocked and saddened by the news. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Unfortunately the server that held the videos crashed quite some time ago and the ISP did not do a backup. I'm afraid the videos are gone. :(

Death is a part of life
but it makes it no easier for those who are left behind
Now we lose a good friend
Someone who always had good things to say

Wherever you are, I'm sure you are in a better place

Offered without further comment, just the lyrics:

One, two, three, four -
Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize - we're floating in space -
Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun don'-go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - Oh - Oh - Oh
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun don'-go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize

I know I haven't been around very much lately, but I am saddened to return and hear this news. I don't know that I ever communicated with Wetsuit, but I recall reading his posts and felt very much as others have stated they did when reading them.

In memory of Wetsuit, I should like to purchase a Teddy Babe to give away to a deserving member each Christmas going forward to help grow the doll community, something which I am sure Wetsuit would appreciate. I will accordingly contact Midiman privately in that regard. As has already been said far more eloquently, he will be missed, but we are all the richer for having had the opportunity to know him such as each of us has.

Well that is a really kind gesture and one that shows what a great community this is :glou:

Midi and I have been talking about something else as well, which I'm sure he will talk to you about when you contact him.

Thanks TJ347, I'm sure Jo would have been move by all the kind comments and actions such as yours :D

Had some old friends around yesterday, some I have not seen since 1975. My dolls are all over the house and they were most impressed.

Made tea and coffee, and got out the spare mugs. "Who is Wetsuit?"

I explained about the fabric dolls and how he made their outfits and accessories, and about his vintage motorcycles (one of my visitors was a former moto-cross rider) and that Joe died young.
