question about repairing a silicone doll

Post by mossy500 »

the only real damage to my doll done during shipping is this puncture to the back of the neck. i was given a tube of silicone glue with the gift kit, how do i use it? if i overdo it will it melt the doll like TPE glue? this is my first repair on a silicone doll so i would like some pointers from people who have experience.

I suggest you view a few repair threads to get a good idea of how to use silicone adhesive.

No, the adhesive can't melt silicone. However, use as little as you can.

Clean the repair area very well with acetone or alcohol. Acetone is the most recommended cleaning agent.

When you open the glue, use a needle and make only a tiny opening. The glue will still come out more than quickly enough. Also, after extracting silicone, don't release the pressure on the tube before capping it. Also, it's best to have a small bead of silicone over the opening when you place the cap on.. Doing so will help prevent air from getting into the tube. If air gets inside of the tube, the remaining silicone will probably cure inside of the tube before you need to use it again, if ever.

I've used a craft stick to remove portions of glue to work with, recapping the glue between applications.

Others will chime in with great tips.
笑. It's good for you.

Use scetone first to clean her up. Then use just a dab of the glue and even out on the cut. Blow a small amount of talc over the new repair and let dry.
