Idea of a ball bearing wrist not a lot different from WM hinged wrist. Just some side to side and up and down. Just putting a swivel on a palm plate basically.Dr Dollinger wrote:Yeah, if it's just only a cost factor that would be very stupid in the end. A disappointed customer isn't really beneficial. There isn't even the opportunity to decide what to chooseRGC_0767 wrote: Everything is a cost factor. Products are getting made cheaper all the time. Not cheap in dollar value, cheap in quality. 1000% profit would have been unheard of decades ago. Not anymore.
Yep I've worked for a couple companies where turnover was high. Shitty jobs, shitty pay I was one of those who one day did not return LOL
Maybe it's a lack of parts... I don't know..
Though it must be a reason for doing this. Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense..That sounds really coolRGC_0767 wrote:I'm playing around with an idea for a ball bearing wrist to incorporate into the tube. Not an engineer, just like to tinker.
Hot Rod custom dolly
Please more details & stay us informed
Was doing some broken/dislocated wire repair from the wrist plate myself with experimenting with different materials..
My only concern when dolly falls on her wrists. Busting up TPE. or worse. Always have to think of mishaps.
The finger fix I did for my lady are more like stiff rubber, than wires. They're wires, but moving them around, you'd think they were not. She could smack me up side the head a hundred times, and her fingers should not break. They've been mangled every which way and are holding up. The trade off is grip. Grip is wimpy!
Takes me a while to get her to hold light items
Was going to add a thin layer of TPE where the wires come out of the tube, for some cushion, but it's a very tight spot. Could do it, would just make her wrist bulge some. I did not want that.
It is amazing to see how different these dolls are all made. Subtle differences!
