The theme for this month’s Cat B challenge is:

"Rhythm and Repetition"

So we all know what Repetition is:

But what is Rhythm? Rhythm can be described as a variation in a pattern. It tends to make a pattern more complex but is also often so subtle it is more perceived than it is conspicuous.

For example if this is a pattern:

Then this is that pattern with rhythm:

So let's add some rhythm (and repetition) to our images!

Here’s some inspiration:

And now the rules...

1. A new or recent photo shot by yourself, not taken before Sept 2018, and not posted on TDF before.
2. Members may enter one photo into each category, but it cannot be the same photo.
3. Your entry into this category may contain any mixture of one or more adult dolls of any type acceptable on TDF
4. Doll nudity is acceptable but optional.
5. Photoshop/image editing is permissible.
6. Do not break any TDF rules regarding photos, and also comply to The Doll Album AUP (Acceptable Use Policy).
7. Please supply the name of your doll(s) in your photo and give it a title. This is required for entry into the final poll.

This month's Cat B challenge will run until Thursday Sept 27th. Sorry I cannot provide a specific time as work can be unpredictable. That said, it’s best to get your submissions in prior to the 27th to be safe.

Voting will continue on the subsequent days until the winners are announced on Sunday, Sept 30th.

Have fun everyone,
Good Luck and,
Carpe Noctem

So we have two lots of repetition here. The twin red heads, and the boys cheering them on to "repeat" their performance... Now that is thinking outside the square... well Done..

This is a truly brilliant entry LoneRanger! The colors pop, the place is jumping, and I love the attention to details (even small items in the shelf). My favorite part is perhaps the way everyone is swaying to the beat. I can almost hear the music in my head and I can certainly feel the rhythm emanating from this entry! This is great, thanks for setting the bar extremely high with this!

Alottahope, I don't know if I'm more impressed by your amazing talent or all the lovely ladies you have! But your work is normally outstanding and this is no exception. What really stands out to me is how the pattern shadows only appear to be along the curves of Hope's body and not the background. BUT the same movement is echoed along the cabinet doors in the in the upper third and the masonry work toward the lower third in the background of the picture. That's just amazing.

To me you are one of the master's in the use of color, and this is one of a few B&W's I've seen from you in my limited experience. I would love to hear you share some insights in your creative process as to why you elected to go with B&W. I feel it adds to the picture as you contrast the highlights of the light on Hope's body against the shadows of the pattern in the background, but I would love to hear your thoughts.

Hey! Great images LR and DB515! So much fun in both images of repetition and rhythm!
EW, Thanks for the compliment! I appreciate your eye. You picked up on everything I wanted to express in the narrative.
Quite often while processing or shooting large amounts of shadows, I will look at the image in B&W and in color.
Yesterday I liked the B&W. Tomorrow I may like the color one better. :haha4:
I have to admit that I have seen Blind shadow photos done in B&W and have really loved the look when it is done right.
I had to make sure the shadow did not cover Hope's eyes. It was also challenging to try to get the blinds lined up with the light in the correct position to cast the shadows sharply.
I will say that the powerful par can light I used projects a large yellow cast on the model (not good). Another reason I went with B&W.
Today I had time to shoot for the Cat A wind. Im always excited to create images for the challenges!
It is always a challenge to come up with ideas and this can only be good for us as photographers!

Dollbeauty this definitely meets the criteria. It's funny you asked because I was considering the SAME concept for myself. But you pulled it off so elegantly, its back to the drawing board for me. It appears you went with the HDR style too which, again, was another concept I have been researching. So needles to say, your picture is right up my alley on multiple levels. Arabella looks beautiful, the picture is perfectly framed, and there is certainly movement going on there. Not to mention Arabella's hair looks awesome! Nice work.

Thanks Alottahope for giving us a glimpse into your creative process. I think its beneficial for all of us to not only hear what decisions were made made but also the amount of thought and effort that goes behind creating these images.
