HOW CAN I PREVENT STAINING MY DOLL?
Please feel free to expand as well...
As always, I will start things off
There are several ways to help.
One is to prevent staining is to make sure you wash the clothing properly.
The method we suggest is washing clothing in a white bucket...
Fill bucket with soap and water
Wash
Water turns grey
Empty and repeat
Do this until water is clear
Let item dry
Tie around a block of TPE
Place books on top of it for PRESSURE
Wait 48 hours
This method has never failed INDIGO 20.

For example, under a black skirt, you have a white skirt.
You can get her a crotch less body stocking as well

2. Avoid long expose to compression points.
Carbon 13 has worn this cotton tank for at least 5 months straight.
I never washed, treated or layered it and as you can see she's pale as sh-t.
Also notice I put cotton where the straps are to avoid compression points.

Above from Indigo 20Do not use mineral oil / baby oil / vaseline for removing color stains caused from clothing !
The clothing industry is using a lot of oil-soluble color pigments.
Therewith you have a high chance of causing a permanent pigmentation inside the TPE.
This happens because the mineral oil / baby oil / vaseline can firmly anchor these oil-soluble color pigments within the TPE structure.

Re: HOW CAN I PREVENT STAINING MY DOLL?
So once home, I individual tested each garment for dye bleeding. Hand washing with hot water only in a large bowl. Both final horribly. Seriously coloring the water of the two bowls.
I considered my hand wash test as 1 washing. The Red Hoodie I washed 2x with the regular laundry. Soap/warm water. The Hot Pink top, I just hang to dry in the shower while it continuing to drip dye.
Then, I threat both items with Retayne following the instructions. Then, into the washing machine again, no soap, warm water only
The results: The Red Hoodie no longer bleeds. The Hot Pink top does. Consider, the red hoodie has now been washed 4x. The Pink top 2x.
At $6.00 for a 4oz bottle, (I used 2 oz.) and with this result, I’m not convinced this is a solution.
I will be trying White Vinegar and Epson Salts next.

I've used this, and it works very well. I still will avoid reds and blacks that aren't satin or silk for the most part, but two weeks and no stains from any clothing, and my girl is always dressed for the most part.Richard V wrote:Has anyone tried Retayne Color Fixative ?

One thing I will say, be cautious of the cloths you mix together in this mixture. While the cloths didn't stain my doll, they did stain a nice pair of pink nylons I had in the same bucket with the darker cloths. I may be able to get those out with a separate treatment, that said, it does work in my experience.
Re: HOW CAN I PREVENT STAINING MY DOLL? Polyester or cotton
I do get tights that match her skin tone and then put black mesh tights or pull ups and garter as some black did leach into her before I knew about prepping the fabric.
Brown dolls also discolor white sheets when she is newer. So then I put a white towel under her to see what happens before she lays on the sheets. I also have one fitted sheet that is almost her skin tone so it wont show.
