Re: Diary of a Tiny Minx Maker
Thanks Victor! I’m sure I’ll be back to the Dragoness soonish.
But first…
Bluebell Updates!
As I said, I think I’ve got some things to learn from my little Fairy that can help with B & Z’s dragon pal. Since Bluebell uses a similar joint connection system, I started off yesterday trying to print and modify her ball joints so I could tighten them up after installation. So far, nothing I’ve tried makes any appreciable difference.
But this morning, I did something to the little Luv that really works…
I strung her up!
7fish designed this little doll to not just have press-fit ball connectors, but elastic stringing as well. I hadn’t originally planned on doing this stringing, but the Fairy’s joints are so tiny and loose, I decided to try it out. I’m pretty impressed overall.
Now I just need to re-engineer all the custom parts I made to accept the elastic cord…

The Dragoness isn’t designed to accept cording, so I doubt this process will have any significance for her. However, there are “strung” BJD dragon designs out there. If this process produces exceptional results for Bluebell, I may go thru the arduous task of redesigning the Dragoness for cording.
I also printed some “scale” tests for the Fairy!
The 50% scale pelvis is TINY!
It definitely won’t be viable to make with my FDM printer… but maybe I’ll keep it in mind once I start using the resin printer I got. The other pelvis I printed at 120%. It’s nice, but I don’t think I want Bluebell to be that big. She’ll be sticking to her original size for now.
Ok… back to the computer. I’m trying to create something… umm… special for her.
Toes she can point…

Hmm… probably not more Fairies. So much plastic… lol. But I’ve got my suspicion that Bluebell might have a horny little red-skinned sister in the works.LoneRanger wrote: ↑Fri Jul 04, 2025 11:59 am You're having way too much, um, fun! Yea that's it. You can create a whole family of blue elves.

Re: Diary of a Tiny Minx Maker
Well… and new calves, ankles, knees and feet altogether… lol.
As I said, I’ve been hard at FUN redesigning Bluebell’s feet. As most know, I’m fond of Monster High doll legs, and I’ve been remixing their lower legs into my Fairy’s stems. For this latest generation, I also reduced the lower part of her knee and refined the length and shape of her entire lower leg… through to her arch.
But obviously, the big change is her articulating toes…
Before you ask… no, Bluebell won’t be getting articulated ankles!
That should surprise no one. I’m very fond of the arch of a woman’s foot. Besides, Fairies shouldn’t have flat feet anyway!

I’ve seen this kind of toe articulation on dolls before, but there weren’t any easy files for me to adapt… so I made mine through trial and error. This is a place where quick “prototype 3D printing” came in super handy. I imagine that some engineer out there could’ve used math and such to figure this out… but I’m not gonna waste my brain on all that!
I’m sure her feet will go through a little more refinement… and I really need to figure out supports and bed orientation… but I’m happy to move onto Bluebell’s next zone of improvement.
More pelvis refinements!
Thanks for visiting!
Re: Diary of a Tiny Minx Maker

Are the joints friction-based, or is there a rubber mechanism inside like in BJD dolls?

Re: Diary of a Tiny Minx Maker
Actually, she has both designs.
I originally eliminated the channels inside for the elastic and planned on just using the friction joints. Now I see that it will be best to use both options together.
Back to the drawing board…

When I get around to making my own Succubus, I think I’ll experiment with making some high-heel cloven feet…Stocking_Hunter wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 5:19 pm Since my girl will always wear high heels I modified her feet to have the "Barbie" arch.![]()

Barbie arch or cloven hooves, damn that's a hard choice.ShadowFun wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 9:21 amActually, she has both designs.

I am guessing that SF's version is going to be the demon version before she changes into a vixen... (I am guessing red, with horns, tail, wings and cloven hoove).RevJack wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 10:48 pmBarbie arch or cloven hooves, damn that's a hard choice.ShadowFun wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 9:21 amActually, she has both designs.

"Darling", (my girl), is the naughty girl, (not that she doesn't have a tail and wings!), that looks like a seductive vixen and entraps you before you figure out what she is. (so Barbie arches, heels, some angelic wings and more natural skin coloration).

Whatever is gonna happen guys… I’ve got a dragon to finish before starting any new projects. Otherwise, Bisboo and Zimzoo are gonna murder me in my sleep!Stocking_Hunter wrote: ↑Sun Jul 06, 2025 11:02 pm I am guessing that SF's version is going to be the demon version before she changes into a vixen... But that don’t mean I can’t help a friend out!
Pussy Play!
As some may know, Stocking Hunter’s “Darling” is a larger size printing of the same base doll as my Fairy. He reached out to me and asked if I’d modify the pelvis file for his succubus to give her some better bits appeal.
Since Darling is a LOT bigger, I figured that would give me some license to make her something with more… umm… resolution.

And push my skills with MeshMixer to their limits.
Naturally, it wasn’t good enough to simply make a cameltoe slot for Darling. I had to make her labia as a separate piece. Because… you know…
Her taco needed a tasty filling!
I’m pretty happy with how this turned out… and it’s got me wondering if I will NEED to print my succubus in a larger scale… when that day comes. As with most doll things, larger dolls can have more details, along with more frustrations. I’m already struggling with the floppiness of the Fairy’s joints. If she was 3 times the size… would it be MUCH worse?
In any case, my Fairy didn’t want to be left out of the taco filling party.
Even tho she’s a petite Luv.
Just a little spicy taste…
On todays docket is attending to Bluebell’s head. I put a TON of frustrating energy into modifying files and creating her head back when my MM skills were just beginning. It’s time I revisited and polished my work.
Currently, Bluebell’s hair is glued on, and her eyes are just held in place with tack. What I need to focus on first, is making sockets to retain her eyes so I can pose them. Then she needs a secure magnetic attachment for her hair. Of course, I’m sure she’ll request some additional refinements.
Maybe she needs some tiny fangs???
Fairies bite!
