As far as lubrication, I've read that using mineral oil is OK since it's absorbed into TPE as part of regular maintenance anyway. IS this not true?

Whilst you can use baby oil in that way too frequent application of any mineral oil will cause over saturation of the tpe which, in turn, weakens it's structure. The current advice with the newer tpe seems to be giving your doll a baby oil massage every 2 months so you can see that using baby oil as a lube will soon over saturate the tpe. You might get away with a thin smear of Vaseline say once a week as you will be cleaning some of it off afterwards but there is no getting away from the fact that regular use and washing of a fixed or insert gal will lead to wear and tear which is why I always use and advocate femidoms. They really are a god send for tpe (and probably silicone too) as they reduce the contact with any fluids inside your gal thus extending her life considerably and they can be reused! Providing you apply a thin smear of Vaseline inside your gal to reduce friction wear then you can see a huge difference over time, I've seen it myself comparing my first gal with my next who came along about 6 months later and has only ever had use with a femidom, her lady parts look as good as when she arrived a year ago! Of course it does feel better going bare back so to speak but I think it's a small price to pay for prolonging your gals life expectancy.

Very good information. Thank you all for contributing.

I have a TPE doll. I understand that I shouldn't oil her too often. But what happens if I don't give her any oil-baths at all. Not even once every two months, as you do Arthur1960.

I guess my core question is, do TPE dolls need to be oiled occasionally, with something like baby oil?

This is all a new world to me. But a very exciting and interesting one. :D

Hi again Steffi, well there are some owners of tpe dolls that say they don't apply baby oil at all but the general advice still seems to be that it is best to do it, just not too frequently. If you search through the forum posts you can see pictures of damage that occurs, particularly around the groin where the tpe has torn. If it dries out it will be less pliable and in high stress areas such as the groin, knees, elbows etc you can see how the material can tear if it is not able to stretch enough, so to me it makes perfect sense to replenish the mineral oil now and then. That being said, the newer tpe blends seem much better at holding onto their mineral oil and so do not need such frequent oiling.

Ahh, I see. I will do as you then. Giving my Stephanie an oil massage every 2 months or so.
Thanks for valuable information!

Your PIB girl can feel even more real if you powder her after cleaning
and drying her. I used to use baby powder, but once I tried corn starch
I have stayed with that, as it is a much finer powder. If your girl has the
"super soft" boobs option, I would not use baby or talcum powder, as they
can actually scratch the softer silicone if you rub too hard. For flavored body
powder, that you can lick off, try Urban Decay brand. I put the powder in a
long sock and tie up the end. Use that to pat her down, then spread it all over
with a makeup brush, or soft cloth. You will feel the difference as you apply it,
and will know when you have enough on her, as she becomes smoother and there
is less drag on the brush. Once powdered, she will feel softer and more real,
and clothes will go on easier. Repeat every so often, as needed. Hope that helps!
That's great advice, Charlie, thanks. Since this is my first doll and I've had her only two days I'm trying to learn as much as possible about keeping her clean, safe, and happy. I used baby powder the first time, but I'll use corn starch from now on and try the sock method of applying it.
Again, thanks.

I posted this orifice drying tip in response to a thread about using air mattress inflator pumps to dry your doll's love canals.

I figured it was worth reposting in this sticky thread.

If necessity is the mother of invention, then this probably ins't her most handsome child.

It IS effective, though.

$16 at Walmart for this Intex brand mattress inflator, plus a small length of tubing I had on hand, and then a small length of the insulation from a frayed old extension cord. (cleaned thoroughly, of course)

I wanted to ensure that air was indeed reaching the deepest recesses of the cavities being dried, and this does the job nicely.

Insert the extension cord portion in with the pump connected until you reach the bottom of the cavity, then back off about an inch.

Let the inflator run for 20ish minutes and voila.

If you always wear condoms with a doll and use Vaseline as a lube, do you still have to wash out the vagina? Or, will it just soak in and condition the TPE?

Well I always smear a little Vaseline inside my gals as part of their care regime anyway but only once or twice a month. I only use femidoms with my gals so there's no need to clean them out, the problem with using Vaseline too frequently is that it will eventually soften the tpe and make tearing more likely. It all depends on how frequently you do it, I guess if you tried to use as little as possible you might be ok with doing that a couple of times a week but that will still soften up her insides a bit. I think you would just have to monitor the situation and ease off with the Vaseline if the tpe looks like it's getting too soft.

I have owned three silicone dolls which required different care. This is my first TPE doll. I used to use tampons to soak up water used to clean the vagina before drying with an air hose from a small aquarium pump. I wonder if I should be using tampons to soak up excess Vaseline? Any thoughts?

I wouldn't think tampons would absorb any vaseline, it will get absorbed by the tpe quicker I would think. I should try using the vaseline as sparingly as possible and just keep an eye on things, you could also consider femidoms as I think they are the kindest thing for tpe gals, frequent cleaning out will take a toll. Since I switched to using femidoms my 2 year old YL148 has kept pretty tidy in her lady parts, the occasional smear of vaseline helps to hold the femidoms in place and seems to protect with any friction. The beauty is that you can then have 'relations' with your gal as often as you want without the hassle of cleaning her afterwards!

Isn't the lubricant bad for the TPE? I can't see any non-lubricated female condoms online.
