We are in the early stages of updating our chat. The current chat used to support Video and Audio as well as a games room and lot's of little extras but is no a bit crippled.

For those who use chat (and those who might if it had other features) how about making a post here with a wish list for the Perfect Chat program

Just having the 'who's in the room' work right is good enough for me

I kind of like that it's a little old-skool in all honesty. Maybe more smilies wouldn't go amiss....but I think more a general update....than a complete overhaul (now we have people actually using it again) I would personally shy away from video...audio could have its uses...but yeah...an update, bug fixes...maybe smarter UI than a whole new sparkly thing perhaps?

Automatically update the Users Chatting list with logoffs. I don't like having to refresh the page, and have "grimreefer24601 has joined the room" just to see who has left the room.

Works ok now for what I use it for....

Seriously, I agree with mainly getting the user list to update on its own.

Oh, and one other thing would be nice, that I can think of. Not sure how to explain it, but you know how Facebooks tab shows a little number to let you know that someone has made a comment or something... that would be nice. Sometimes the chat is quiet, so I'm off in other tabs. A little indicator that there was some activity in chat would be nice.

Definently the entries and exit's updating automatically, as previously mentioned.

More smileys and maybe a way to add gifs automatically?

Neenah and I are very new to chat. Works pretty good for me, one thing I do like, is the easy ability to add attachments. So much easier than some other sites. It would be nice to see how many are in the chat room before I go into it.

This is a great idea (though Fb stopped doing that for me years ago haha)....

Also another thought, and is nothing to do with chat itself really...maybe make chat a little more mobile platform friendly? Especially on tablets maybe?

I would love an /afk toggle that might flag next to your name like [idle] does now, but you can set it yourself.

That's already in CL....(not intuitive admittedly)...

Click the spanner icon at the bottom of chat (user Options) and at the bottom of that window set to what you need...afk...brb etc)

Aside from what's already been mentioned...

Maybe make the posted pics appear smaller so as to not run the chat up so fast during pic parades?? I always click on the links to see the full pics. I was thinking maybe twice the size of the avatar pics would be nice.

PNG support would be nice.

As would being able to resize PM windows.

When you press <enter> with nothing in the chat box, make it so that nothing happens at all. Right now, doing so will cause a dialog box to appear asking you to type a message.

Would also recommend changing the spam filter setting to three identical messages instead of two.

And since none of us dolls ever go into the Dolls Alive room, maybe have something to differentiate us in the user list (like a ♥ or a (D) or something after our name in the list).

Ever thought about using Discord?

Two other things I thought of...

It would be nice if the chat history was longer. Currently you can only scroll back a short distance, and new posts push out the old posts. It would be better, imo, if you could scroll all the way back to where you entered chat.

And it might be nice to be able to "quote" a comment in case you want to respond to something that was said while your were afk or something.

An easier way to copy/paste a conversation to send to an Admin if necessary.

Especially private pm's.

And maybe time-stamps on the comments.
