So You've Gone and Stained Your TPE Doll! Easy Stain Removal

Post by Out_Of_Sync »

No matter how careful you are to avoid staining from clothing: avoiding cheap clothes, buying used, multiple washings, dressing your dolls in body stockings, one day you just might find a stain sneak past you.

I've frequently been less careful than I should have been and found a stain that needs to be removed.

For me the best easy stain remover has proven to be OXY 10 Acne Cleanser, as displayed by the lovely Maria.

It's readily available and not too expensive. But be careful, this stuff is powerful! If you get it on any colored clothing it will beach it out, so handle with care. I have found it to work well and to be safe on the TPE I've used it on: Private Island Beauties TPE and 6ye TPE. That said, since all TPE blends are different, I would recommend testing it on your TPE first: perhaps on a sample, insert or a hidden part of your doll to make sure it will not cause damage.

In this case my PIB TPE Island Girl was wearing a body stocking but the open crotch area contacted some black clothing resulting in a stain:

The removal process is simple. Apply a liberal amount of OXY 10 on the stained area.

Let it sit for 12 to 24 hours, I usually go 24 hours, the OXY 10 will dry out.

Great post Out_Of_Sync!

I have battled many TPE stains with the 10% Benzoyl Peroxide too.

If you are in a hurry. Like, maybe you are going to bed and need her by your side, you can just wash the cream off after 2 hours.

I have noticed that it soaks in and will continue to work over the next couple of days.

Its AMAZING Posts like this that drove me to join here, A Billion TY's to all of you and the wealth of knowledge, experience and passion here at the Doll Forum. My Beautiful Girls are too Petite to post pics here and that's the very reason it i was hesitant to join. But one must feel compelled to give credit and I had to do so.

Just wanted to chime in here first of all to say THANKS! you are a life AND wallet saver!

Secondly - if you guys aren't able to find the "OXY 10 Maximum Strength" cleaner in your drug/grocery store (which was the case for me. I found the "OXY Advanced Care with prebiotics" cleanser works just as well. I crossed off all the corresponding ingredients in both items and the only extra things in the advanced care stuff is some extra glycerin and some fruit based stuff - all seem safe for TPE. I used it on my Tantaly aurora. I put on a body stocking that I forgot to wash and she was pretty much stained from the legs all the way to mid-way up the torso. I was scared that it might not work or not be doll-safe, so i did a little test patch on the bottom of her leg and after 8 hours, everything looked great so I applied almost the full bottle to her body and the next day after wiping it all off, she was pretty much back to good as new! I wish I would've taken pics but I was so flustered about my mishap that I didn't even think to.

Thanks again!

PLEASE don't forget soak/wash your clothes at least a few times before you put them on!

Can confirm this works. Can also confirm that people (=me) are also dumb enough to think (even after testing with a chunk of TPE) that some cheap but hot lingerie will not stain if me and the doll get it on fast enough. LOL, no. Back to the acne cream for my baby...

Hope people realise that if they are going to use something like that on a doll with "realistic body painting", they will remove all the makeup and the result will be worse....

One of the reasons the realistic body painting option seems like a exorbitant feature to spend on. My doll heads (edit: and nipples) were losing lip color in transit, so by the time I got them they were a bit uneven. It just seems like it's one of those things that will fade way too fast for what it costs, even if it theoretically looks nice (granted the doll arrives intact and 'unmolested').
