New member here, literally just became one.
TPE, from what I've been told, is inferior to full silicone Dolls.
I wonder though, if a TPE Doll is kept in an appropriate case and well cared for, can it in theory, last many years?
I am also new in here and in the doll world.
I wouldent call TPE inferior to silicone there are pros and cons for both dolls.
But for what ive learned so far, TPE is more soft then silicone but also takes alot more maintenance so if you want it to last a really long time it will take alot of work and even then it proberly wont last as long as silicones, TPE also seems to get tears more easily and can be more difficult to repair compared to silicone, but if TPE dolls gets oiled and good maintenance, it may cause the doll More life, with Platinum Silicone, you will not encounter the problems encountered by TPE, such as bacterial reproduction and repair difficulties.
Silicone can also look more realistic and look like real people more accurately.
So for me it came down to a few simple choices, more softness and maintenance vs more realistic look and less maintenance.
I picked a full silicone as my first doll and still waiting or it to arrive, cant wait........
I found this site to have alot of usefull information on TPE vs Silicone.
