The old system ball joints can be tightened, but can be a pain.
The joint is held together with a round internally threaded sleeve with no flats for a wrench to grab.
To tighten a joint, you’ll need to find the tack weld that locks in the sleeve and grind it down.
Use a wrench to hold the mating end of the skeleton and then use a rounded vice grip to tighten the sleeve until the joint is a stiff as you want.
The pics show ball joints from my 6ye skeleton manufactured in 2017.
