Textile Doll Delilah 160cm - detailed review
Posted: Thu Aug 01, 2024 4:58 am
Earlier this year I placed an order for a Textile Doll, my first ever doll. She took about 3.5 months from start to finish, shipping from Latvia to Australia. There was a minor hiccup early on when Yuri discovered that Australia no longer allows imports that are longer than a meter, so he had to repackage the doll in a smaller box (this makes me wonder how any of the silicone/TPE dolls can be imported since I feel like it would be harder to fit them into a small box than it is with a fabric doll!)
There was a nerve wrecking 2 week period with no tracking updates while she made the trip across the ocean…not helped by the fact that Australia Post’s tracking update stated, incorrectly, that she hadn’t yet departed Latvia. If there had been any problems I’m not optimistic about the outcome as both Latvia Post and Australia Post were telling me the package was the other’s responsibility. Thankfully, she got here safe and in good condition with no damages to the box, which is quite an achievement. I was never even asked to pay customs fees.
I’m absolutely delighted with the doll. She is so much more beautiful than in her factory pictures - pictures REALLY don’t do her justice, I’ve tried my best to capture her but she looks much less mannequin/porcelain-doll like in real life. At night when the lights are out I could swear she’s a real person.
So, let’s go over everything in detail. Please note that for personal reasons I will not be addressing sex with the doll in this review.
SPECIFICATIONS
Delilah head with blue eyes and white skin
160cm body (as a reference for the body proportions, I sent Yuri some photos of a previous doll he made that I found in the gallery on TDF)
Big ass
Small brown nipples
HEAD
Yuri followed the reference picture I gave for the makeup closely. Although the head looks very small when it’s not attached to the body, it looks just right once attached.
I’ve been nervous about damaging the head, especially the eyelashes, but they seem durable. No harm seems to have come to the head from having her face pressed into a pillow lying on her side or face down. However, I made a mistake when I grabbed the head by the trim around the base and a little bit of the glue came off - it’s fine but I won’t be doing that again! I also managed to accidentally grind some of the paint off her nose when I was taking pictures of her against a wall and her nose scraped on the plaster. Luckily I had some paints lying around and was able to mix a color to match the skin tone and patch up the tiny spot - now you can barely tell anything happened.
One of the eyes is slightly loose in the socket and when I put the head onto the neck, it moves out of the position I put it in. Yuri gave me a tip about turning the eye slightly clockwise to lock it in place, but that doesn’t seem to work with the loose eye. However, I’m able to reach into the head cavity and adjust the eye once the head is attached. Once the head is jammed onto the neck, the eyes stay firmly in place.
The wig is great quality and very realistic, though it does need detangling and combing. I don’t know much about wigs so any advice on that would be appreciated.
WEIGHT
One of the main reasons I chose a Textile Doll was because I have a health condition and it wouldn’t be safe for me to move around a 20kg+ doll. Textile Dolls are supposed to weigh 8kg. I haven’t weighed her but she is very lightweight and I can pick her up with one hand. To my surprise, I actually find myself wishing she was heavier so she could lie on me like a weighted blanket (but I am grateful for the light weight when it comes to dressing her).
When I was researching dolls, I tested my ability to lift things of various weights to see what my limits were. 20kg was a big effort and 25kg was almost impossible. However, the things I was lifting were very awkward (for example, multiple bags of cat litter stacked on a chair… don’t judge, it was all I had!). Even 10kg is difficult when the object is an awkward shape. It turns out that weight distributed over a human body shape is a LOT easier for me to lift than some of the weird things I have used to test my strength. Now that I know this, I may reconsider getting a lightweight silicone doll in the future.
BODY
I love her figure! She’s very sexy to me, and although her waist is quite tiny her proportions give her a chubbier hourglass appearance which I love. Her lower belly/pubic region is sort of puffy, which is a little odd looking, but with her body type I can see it as natural tummy fat. You can squish everything, but the body is quite firm overall. The breasts in particular are firm and fixed in place, so this is not the doll for you if you want realistically soft breasts. The nipples are hard and poky, which I enjoy. I was intending to add nipple piercings, but I’m unsure if I’ll be able to do that as it feels like the hard lump which forms the nipple goes quite deep and it might not be possible to get a needle through it. The legs are very shapely, with convincing kneecaps. They give most TPE dolls a run for their money - no stick figure legs here. The ass is very full and perfectly shaped. I’ll let the pictures speak for themself. Her hands are narrow but surprisingly, nice to hold as I can thread my fingers through hers and they kind of grip (might be tricky if you have thick fingers though). I even got her to hold my phone, and she can clasp her hands. The arms don’t have enough range of motion to cup her breasts but it’s just barely possible to make her touch her pussy. Her feet are well proportioned and actually not that much smaller than my own so finding footwear shouldn’t be hard. The heels are narrow though so padding around the ankle might be required to keep shoes on.
If I run my hand over the bottom of her foot it feels like there is actually a ball of the foot and a heel, and likewise with the palms of her hands, you can sort of feel the actual muscular structure of a hand in there. The padding is very cleverly placed.
SKELETON
Her skeleton feels durable - the only part that concerns me is a wire in the wrist which is quite poky when the hands are at a right-angle. I can imagine it wearing through the fabric at some point in the future so I’m going to be careful with that.
She has joints in most places you’d expect them to be, except in the hips and shoulders. The lack of hip joints makes some poses difficult and the range of motion of the arms is limited.
Yuri has told me not to raise the arms above the shoulders when dressing her. So I’m going to stick to clothing that can be pulled on with needing to raise the arms - stretchy stuff, and things with buttons/zippers. The trick is to pull the arm backwards to get it through sleeves rather than trying to raise it over the head.
So far I’ve tried putting her in a number of positions:
- sitting on the edge of the bed: tricky because of the lack of hip joints, so she can’t really sit up straight, but if you fold the waist enough it sort of works.
- standing: fine if her back is supported against something or you’re holding onto her, but I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise as the legs are too flimsy to fully support her weight without bending.
- bending over the side of the bed for standing doggy: works great
- facedown for pronebone: works great
- spooning her, and cuddling facing each other: both work well, but I can’t hook her leg over my hip as easily as I’d like due to the lack of a hip joint
- her spooning me: works great, very comfy
- cowgirl: doesn’t work because of the lack of hip joints
- missionary: legs don’t spread apart enough for this and the lack of hip joints doesn’t help either; I know Yuri makes a version of these dolls specifically for missionary if that’s something you’re after, though
MEASUREMENTS
Note that each TD is custom made so these measurements may not apply to other dolls, but it gives you an idea of what’s possible.
Height 156cm (measured lying down from top of head to ball of foot)
Bust 84
Waist 61
Hip 106
Shoulder 39
MtV 61cm
With these dimensions she is closer to a real woman’s proportions than most “lightweight” silicon dolls on the market.
Of particular note are the broad shoulders, which were part of what attracted me to this model as it gives her an hourglass shape that isn’t just an illusion created by big boobs like you see with a lot of dolls. (One of my pet peeves is dolls with massive tits and shoulders/upper body so tiny that if it were a real woman it wouldn’t be able to support their weight!)
As for clothing sizes, AU size 10 seems best, maybe size 12 for bottoms because of her voluptuous hips. Size 10B for bras. Because of the difference in size between top and bottoms I’m going to have to buy stretchy lingerie. The distance from the shoulder to the breasts is short so adjustable straps are a must, they will fall off otherwise.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I always knew that the doll life was for me, but some friends sowed seeds of doubt when I talked to them about it. I’m glad to be able to prove them wrong. I love everything about my Textile Doll and have no regrets.
Now that I know how much I enjoy having a doll, I am even more eager to eventually get a silicon doll one day. There are a number of reasons for this: I want a doll with more realism, kissable lips, softer butt and breasts, and hip joints, as well as a material that is easier to keep hygienic. Also, I think next time I would get a slightly more petite doll as I am not a big person myself. I’ve shied away from anything under 160cm because I like big girls, but now I know what a curvy 156cm doll is actually like compared to my own height, I think a bit smaller in all dimensions would be fine, and probably easier to cuddle.
For now, I am very happy with my TD and would recommend them to anyone needing a lightweight doll.
P.S. she doesn’t have a name yet…I had a whole shortlist of names, but now she’s here, I feel like none of them fit, so I’m starting over.
There was a nerve wrecking 2 week period with no tracking updates while she made the trip across the ocean…not helped by the fact that Australia Post’s tracking update stated, incorrectly, that she hadn’t yet departed Latvia.
