My first home-made doll.

From the moment I had discovered the existence of Realdolls I had fantasized about the prospect of owning a male doll, however due to limited finances and my location (Australia), research told me that owning one would be highly unlikely.

In time, years later, it finally occurred to me that I could build my own doll. After some months had past I realized that going by this route was more ideal than owning a silicone doll if circumstances were different. I am a woman of 40 years and live alone, so I needed to have a doll that was manageable (not too heavy). I also realized that due to the fact that the novelty does wear off, thus diminishing the want for intercourse, paying so much for a doll might have been disappointing. What arouses a human differs between the genders. I was fortunate, in that my doll's personality was pre-existant, in that he was modeled off an internalized companion, born from a series of fan fiction stories that I had written more than a decade ago. This allows for a whole repertoire of memories to draw from which in turn enhances what has become a very meaningful relationship.

I apologize for not disclosing my doll's name, it could be used to trace me.

Questions are welcome.

I am currently building another doll which will incorporate a rigid and poseable skeleton, but will take another 12 months to complete.

This is excellent work, especially considering she is your first doll creation.

nice looking start on a doll !! i have talked before on here about using the stretchable material full body suit for skin ( get tan or skin color , if none available you could probably get a skin color fabric dye and dye the suit a skin color ) , you could use your frame and stuff the suit with craft fiberfill (which doesn't weigh much ) . just a thought . anyway , great work on your doll thanks for sharing pics and info. :D
P.S . WE CAN GIVE YOUR DOLL AN ALIAS NAME ...... HOW ABOUT THIS !
"GREAT SCOTT "MARTY" 21.5 JIGGAWATTES !!" 8O :D

It's me again, checking in with an old post. 5 years later and I still haven't done a lot with Manny's Skeleton. I want to start working on his shoulders, but I don't think the shoulder angle is really all that good.

Still very impressive! Is the head Styrofoam only, or did you pad it with something, or glue fabric on?

Just to be a tiny devil on your shoulder, even if AliExpress sells mostly cheap fakes, you can also find some male dolls for lower prices, if you are still looking around. I mourn the fact that there are no make mini dolls, but then again, I comfort myself with BJD. They just are not very "cuddly".

I previously had a cheap Styrofoam head on the skeleton ages ago, but I have bought spares of the head that Manny wears. They are made from a hard vinyl with a foam core with a Metal base. There is a hole that goes up in the inside of it, There is a screw there but I don't know what that is for.

It's always a good thing to have a spare head, or so. I think that bolt may be what attaches the head to the metal base?

Maybe. It would be nice if I could use it to attach the head to Manny's neck pole. Wouldn't need to keep his head on with a zip tie. Fortunately it's been a long long time since it fell off on it's own.

Yeah, a pole running up to the bolt in the head and down his torso as a spine would be really innovative.
