Condom Conundrum

As a soon-to-be doll owner I'm gathering prep materials, and I want to try out some condoms. Now, after researching I'm a little concerned I might screw up and would love to hear from others.

== Condom material ==
Are the following materials safe to use with a TPE dolls?
1) polyisoprene (ex Lifestyles Skyn)
2) latex - (ex your "standard" condom)
3) polyurethane (ex super thin Japanese Sagami)

== Condom lube ==
From what I can tell, most condoms come with a little bit of silicon lube. Isn't this dangerous to use with TPE?? Should I absolutely get unlubricated condoms?

I'm probably overthinking it, but figured its worth putting out there. Anyone have any info on this?

Ensure you get a dinger (condom) that is compatible with your dolls material.....as this will will prevent reaction with either and stop continual breakages...also ensure the lube is not going to degrade either material too...this will help unexpected doll pregnacy.....LOl...Anung

But how do i know which one is compatible? And if the lube is dangerous to TPE? That was the point of my post :wink:

Yep...pretty much the same deal here....do not under lube though as this is where the materials of either the gal or the condom are exposed to failure....

What about if the doll is made of silicone, which would be best condom to use?

Thanks for all the replies so far. I don't know what to believe anymore, since I've found several references to silicon being used as the main lubricant:

"All condom manufacturers except Trojan brand use a silicone-based lubricant on their products. Trojan uses a water-based lubricant that contains glycerin on some of their condoms." - https://www.s3safesexstore.com/products ... 73B55CAD70

"The majority of condoms are made from natural latex and coated with a silicone-based lubricant" - http://thesweethome.com/reviews/best-condoms/

I'm really paranoid especially about using any kind of silicon lube with a TPE doll. Perhaps I'm overthinking this but I feel it's worth mentioning and investigating.

First, thanks for replying, however we're losing track of the topic...

I'm talking about the lube that comes on the condom, and the condom material itself. I was hoping this would be a useful thread to go into detail about this but perhaps I'm the only one with the concern.

So far I think we can conclude latex material is safe, but there's still the question of the newer style condoms (polyisoprene), and whether to worry about the (apparently silicon) lube that comes on them.

Actually, I just found one source that suggests that latex is fine for silicon, but perhaps not porous TPE:

That site suggests using polyurethane or nitrile condoms only, and to avoid latex. I guess it's complicated :-)

I'm pretty sure it's a good choice.

Interesting read...that said...I use the ones from Ansell that are natural rubber latex on both silicone and TPE gals....I do not go for the flashy coloured or flavoured ones as this introduces aromatics than can deteriate either material....I also use a water based lube...and once again...no dramas here for me, or the gals.

Word of warning though...the box has a warning that some people may be allergic to rubber latex and these can cause a reaction to the skin....so be cautious if you have rubber reaction issues... :wink:
