Hello everyone, I just want to say I am very grateful to have found this place. and all the resources and information here. I have thought about getting a doll for a very long time since I was about 16 or 17.
I first witnessed the HBO special on how the Real Dolls where made and I said. "Wow.. these dolls look amazing"
Many years later I am able to finally be able to pull the trigger and get my first girl. I at first almost bought a TPE Doll From RLSD but after I found this site I found the SANHUI 158cm-Textured Skin Model. which looks just jaw-droppingly amazing. I am currently trying to save up for my new girl. I hope to get her here soon. thank you all for the time and research and all the effort you guys put into this site. it has helped this newbie tremendously. Best Regards.

Welcome! You may want to consider how much weight you're willing to carry. Additionally, consider storage, height of doll, style of doll (ie realistic, fantasy, anime, etc). material of doll (Silicone, TPE, fabric being some of the major categories), maintenance (Does the skin need oiling, powdering? How easy is it to fix damage to the skin, frame, etc), and cost. The doll size will also determine how easy or hard it is to find clothing as well as the price. If you had to get all clothing custom made because of the dimensions/proportions, then the clothing cost will go up. If you can find typical sizes for that height, then it will be cheaper/easier to find clothing.

I probably have some threads/posts on clothing and possible damage it can cause on the doll skin, so take a look around the forums. I have 2 fabric dolls for their ease of maintenance. They do have issues with the joints getting loose and the fabric skin getting snagged by rough objects, but they're lightweight and I don't need to do very much upkeep on them.

I am very Set on getting a Sanhui Model. And my choice is Silicone because of the ability to sterilize it more so than TPE. I need to see what my possible limits are for her customization. I am not that tall of a fellow and the one I want currently is nearly as tall as I am. I am also not a gym work out sort of person. so 75-80 pounds I would be dragging her around and her feet and heels would be dragging on the floor. I have looked into maybe transportation chairs if I am unable to scale everything I want and need down a bit so I can carry her around hopefully without a wheelchair.

Just keep in mind that a doll that weighs 75-80 pounds is no joke. Dolls feel twice as heavy as they really are because they are awkward weight and you may not always be able to lift with the optimum leverage. Even when you try to lift with your legs rather than your back, you will still be putting a lot of strain on your back.
Not to mention that these ladies are very delicate so you have to lift them in a slow and controlled manner. Which will add to the difficulty as they can't simply be heaved around like a sack of potatoes.
For moving her from point A to B, I would definitely recommend some sort of chair with wheels. I would go for an office chair without armrests as it would make it easier to get her in and out of the chair. Of course you will have to hold on to her while moving the chair so she doesn't fall out and knock a hole in the floor or foundation. 8O
But in any case, good luck and don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions or difficulties.
