Another new guy joins the doll crowd

Hello all,
This is my first post here, although I have been lurking for some time now. I've read through many of the other introductory posts with interest - it's fascinating to read stories from various members... it seems like we've all come here from different places (figuratively and literally) and for different reasons. I don't know if my story is as interesting as some of yours, but I'll offer it here anyway.
I've been living on my own for a few years now since my divorce. I'm in my 40s, and though I've dated on and off since the divorce, I haven't had a relationship that has really clicked for a very long time. As I get older, I find I have much less enthusiasm for the dating scene than I did when I was younger. It's harder to meet people, and it's especially hard to meet quality people. But, my need for sex hasn't diminished, so what's a guy to do? I've considered going to a prostitute, but the risks seem to outweigh the rewards there. For the last year or so, I've been living in "monk mode" so to speak, no girlfriend, no sex. It's frustrating. I actually don't mind living alone, in fact I kind of prefer it, because you don't have to put up with anyone's annoying personal habits. But going without physical intimacy of any kind is difficult.
A while back, someone on reddit mentioned sex dolls, which at first I thought was a joke, but I started searching around and was absolutely blown away by how far the technology has come! I am old enough to remember the old "inflate-a-date" type dolls that were often bought as a gag gift for bachelor parties and the like. The full-sized silicone and TPE dolls that exist now, though, are light years above and beyond my old impression of what a "sex doll" looks like! The price tag scared me off at first, but the more I thought about it, the more the idea started to appeal to me. Here's a way to get most of the sexual benefits of a relationship without any of the drawbacks - no nagging, no gold diggers, no STDs, no putting up with her annoying friends or crazy family members, you never have to take her out or pay for expensive trips or vacations, she'll never run around behind your back and cheat on you, she'll never hurt your feelings, you'll never get her pregnant by accident, she'll never get old, fat, or ugly, and if you ever get tired of her, you can stick her in a box in the closet and forget about her for a while without worrying about her feelings. Yes, I imagine the "sex" isn't the same as with a real woman - after all, she can't respond to anything you do, or even move on her own. Someone on the forums here described it as closer to "advanced masturbation" rather than proper sex, and that strikes me as probably essentially accurate. But still, if it's even a decent approximation of actual sex, it would surely be better than the alternative of going without.
So, I thought about it for a while, weighing the pros and cons. I agonized over whether this purchase would make me officially a creepy weirdo in other people's eyes. I scoured these forums to read up on other users' experiences, and eventually decided: eh, what the hell - I'm at a point in my life where I generally don't care what other people think. So, I plugged in my credit card and dropped three grand on a WM 157cm B cup - she is far hotter than any actual woman I've ever been with. I am currently experiencing the "long wait" while she goes through manufacturing and shipping. I have used that time so far to continue to scour these forums, buy some supplies and some clothing, and generally prepare to have one of these things in my home for the first time. I honestly am not sure what to expect from this experience. It's entirely possible that this will end up being a very expensive mistake, if it turns out that it's not my thing. But, I'm prepared to take that risk, on the chance that this will work out well and will render human women obsolete in my life.
I intend to post a review and some photos after she arrives and I've had my hands on her for a while. In the meantime, I'll be browsing this forum frequently, waiting for my new arrival and contemplating whether I've made a huge mistake or not
