Anyone else experiencing SQL error, connections maxed?

I doubt im the only one experiencing this, but thought i might ask, as it pops up 4-5 times a day for me.
Anyone know how to avoid this?

its the server backing up. happens around the same time each night

I actually experience it at different times of day; morning, afternoon, evening and night. Would make sense if its when different timezones get "off work" and starts connecting.
Anyone know how many connections are allowed, as this would give an indication of how many people are lurking and not necessarily posting?
