Are these 2 new faces from EXdoll the same head/face actually?

Image 1 Head 1
Image 2 Head 2 (known as ‘Luo’)
Image 3 Head 1 again
Image 4 Head 2 again

I thought they look different, though quite similar features wise.
Lips, shape of eye and chip seem to have slight difference, or was it the magic of makeup and styling? What do you think?

They do look like the same face, with the maid outfit girl having a little more lipstick to give her a smile. The angle of the face can also easily change the expression, a photo from further below would make a smile more pronounced while one directly in front of or above the target would show a frown.

I believe they are both the same head it's for the 145cm doll. They both have s- class makeup makes it a huge difference.

Thanks for yr comments Lika and Sate.

Well to me yes they tend to look like the same head, but I still seem to not get pass noticing the slight difference. The only main feature that could likely be caused by the makeup is probably her eyebrows, with maid version drawn slightly more angled and lively.
Luo head’s crease line of the lips, slightly fuller looking chin and shape of eyes (maid version again slightly more angular, while the other seem more longish and evenly distributed, giving that sultry look) makes me retain some doubt as to it being identical with the other.
Also, because I thought the 2 head’s chosen angle/tilt of face are very similar thus the smile-frown contrast between them shouldn’t be still this much, should the 2 be actually the same head or face.

Hmm..

They are different heads.

I suspect they are based off of the full sized "Sharon" & "Leaf" sculpts.

Both faces have been softened and proportioned for the smaller 145cm body.

Leaf has lost a bit of her duckface and thyroid eyes for a gentler gaze and Mona Lisa smile.

Hi zedoh6, you seem to be speaking with a tone of confidence.
Are you basing your judgement on pure direct observable differences you picked out, or was it because you know them to be different based on facts somewhere etc. may I ask?
From sheer observation I myself think I have picked up more than a few areas that tells me the 2 are different, though by casually looking at the general look of them they could pass as the same. The difference are subtle, but from the perspective that we humans grow up looking at and telling the difference of countless faces, my instincts at least tells me that these 2 are indeed different somehow and not some trick of the eye makeup that caused it. Not saying there’s no chance I could be wrong, but if that’s the case I beg to be corrected and convinced (while getting educated about something new :fadein: )
Will be great if we have some concrete evidence as to what the case is actually. This concern may seem trivial at a casual glance, but in the doll buying world where subtle details really do make the difference I’d hate to see this as another example of different but similarly looking head’s passing as the same, just because the majority of us are either careless or simply not attentive enough to fine details/differences.
One example would be in a case I came across before, where a WM doll head 56 was proclaimed head 70 with confidence by a vendor, only to turn out to be untrue after persistent confrontation about the concern was raised:/ Guess what, the vendor simply had to shrug some shoulders and say casually things like ‘oh you’re so observant lol, yeah turns out you’re right man!’ . Well, if you know where I’m coming from with this, I’m saying that all too often in the doll industry world we customers are fed wrong info and expected to live with it even if the truth was out later, and if we’re not careful we simply had to bear with whatever consequence/money spent on a wrong product, or something we’re supposed to fool ourselves thereafter as the ‘same thing’ (or worse, I assure you it happens more often than one might like to think).
We have the right and responsibility to ourselves to not receive something that’s not the actual product we wanted, simply because ‘we can’t tell the bodies apart, they’re both boobs and sexy hips!’ for example  and have the responsible seller of the doll grinning behind our backs at how naive and little we could tell their products apart. All they need to do is to feed us the info that something’s genuine or ‘the same’ and we’d believe it without question lol.. (scary)

Love the Luo head!

Id say theyre so close it wouldnt matter to me, honestly. :)

For some weird reason, the european DSdoll store does NOT have the Luo head as compatible with the 145 bodies. :(

Also, does anyone know if this head is oral capable?

TIA

Neither new head is oral capable. DS has manufactured only a couple heads that are oral capable. There are a handful that posess a shallow cavity that houses a removable partial silicone tongue, but this is more useful for photographers.

I'm one of those internet jerks who impose their opinion as fact on specialist forums. (^.^)

Your keen eyes do not deceive you, the (Japanese) site specifies they are different heads.

Are you interested in paranoid conspiracy theories? I think it's my fault there is a "Luo" head on the US site.

I placed an order for what at the time was a brand new head only available on the Japanese site— "Yuzuki". I was looking for a compelling photogenic face that would probably not be widely seen outside of Japan / China.

Imagine my chagrin when a week after my order, there was a listing hastily added to the US store for this "Luo" head. In addition DS, who normally maintain a minimal social presence here, suddenly dropped new head photos on TDF. (^.^)

This got my brain thinking. DS does not normally introduce asian heads into western markets unless there is a bigger product push behind it. I believe the only reason we got "Sharon" and "Leaf" was because they were the next gen heads compatible with the new EVO body.

*DING*

That's it! DS is developing a 145 EVO body and Yuzuki is the "Leaf" head.

This led me to two discoveries— the "Riho" head and a newly designed 145 EVO body.

While the heads appear to be Japanese-designed, the new body seems to be designed in China (the Japanese site did not advertise the new body until recently).

The 145 EVO body is still sort of under wraps because the manufacturer has an extremely limited number of moulds built.

I wouldn't get overly excited for the EVO body though. It is most likely a 145 body with matte texturing and scaled 167 EVO hands and feet grafted on. It's also a lot more expensive than the standard 145.

If people are willing to be patient, I will post my impressions when mine arrives.

Lol. I think a lot of people who hate the appearance of the standard 145 doll's intimate parts would be very excited about a 145 EVO body.

Hee hee, very true.

Thank you for bringing that up.

The intimate area is now fixed... No insert.

HOWEVER... I don't know whether it will resemble the 167 or 145... just that there won't be that "gap."

I guess that is something else to look forward to finding out.

Thank you very much zedoh6 for your input! Yes your comments about the Japanese site gave the final word about the heads. Good job :P

This turned out quite interesting!

Lacking market experience, I hadnt considered the likeliness of a smaller EVO model from DS in the near future, but that would be the obvious move on their part.
