Guardian (UK) Article on Dolls

Post by Muninn »

A long read, but an interesting and fairly well balanced article in The Guardian today. TDF is referenced a few times.

It mainly talks about the psychology involved in doll ownership, and while it mainly about single male owners, it does mention the fact that couples and women owners do exist.

Agreed, it was refreshingly fair and accurate.

I don't think an article about dolls that brings up #MeToo and Eliot Rodger is particularly "fair", but each to their own interpretation I suppose.

Oh, I don't know... they could have wheeled in a certain doll hater from DeMontfort University (who I shall not name  ) to balance the article, that would have been faaaar worse 8O

Quote: RealDoll’s very emphasis on customization belies the concept of a singular, universally agreed-upon ideal.
Probably something that the LHP purists could take note of :)

Have to be honest, it is refreshing to read an article about men that isn't overladden with stereotypes and not overly negative. Articles like this will help with "Doll-Acceptance", especially given where this one is published, the Guardian is quite respected in the circles of people that otherwise would not be on board with female dolls.

Step by step we can turn the tide ;).

Does TDF have a resource page for more articles and videos like this? I've seen quite a few now but I'm always in search for any that I have missed.

This writer has really caught the overall basis of the Doll Word, one of the best interpretations I have seen.

A great read. I found myself relating to what people might think of me as well as why my fascination is deeper than sex.
