I was reading the Star newspaper this weekend and this article caught my eye. Who is stealing the mannequins from Belleville’s clothing stores?
There have been several robberies and only the high end mannequins were stolen. Cheaper ones were untouched.
The clothing they were wearing was not the target because they were wearing inexpensive articles.
In another store the mannequin thief ignored the cash, a laptop and an ipad.

There was a news story a year or so back of a guy stealing a mannequin and running out the door with it. The news showed security camera footage. Weirdness.

It seems insane to risk jail time and a criminal record for something you can buy online for about $135. Even the $60 mannequins are quite lovely. If it were a RealDoll with a $10.000 price tag, that would be a lot more understandable.
