Great to read about how this got resolved! Happy for all of you.ariel_lover wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2024 8:53 pm Mr. Bojangles is at a very strange place he has never seen before today. There is so much to explore and discover that is all so new to him. Just a few minutes ago, he spotted a wood duck drake swim past. Such a beautiful and handsome bird all decked out in his courting plumage. Bojangles got really excited at the window, and was wagging his little tail fast and furious.
So much about this place is unfamiliar and strange, but he is not afraid. Why is our little doggie so brave?
Because he's not here alone. His best buddy is here too ...
... at the cabin!
The adventures continue ... and a new beginning (again)!
Some of you might have noticed that we have posted only a few new photos since Christmas (or maybe not ... that's okay). When we were last at the cabin for Celia's final adventure of 2023 on the lake in the canoe in October, you may recall that I mentioned that Celia had developed some serious skeleton issues. The picture of her on the deck holding the paddle was the last time that she was able to stand, and then only because she was braced in the corner against the railings. In the ensuing months, things only got worse. Much worse. Her hips became so loose and floppy in both directions that she was barely able to sit up unassisted. Eventually, even that became impossible. And finally, in early March, disaster ... her left hip detached completely.
To say her Zelex body has been a major disappointment would be an understatement. She was so thrilled to be able to stand when it first arrived, and we were so pleased with the incredible lifelike skin details. But for major and critical skeleton joints to go loose so quickly, and then fail completely in less than two years when handled so gently and carefully, was not how this was supposed to go for us.
I could not bear to have my precious girl confined to our small apartment and unable to share more adventures with me in our woodland paradise because her body had failed her through no fault of her own. Repair might have been possible, but I had had enough, so we got in contact with Alice at MyRobotDoll in Belgium and began the long wait for a new custom configured body to arrive. And arrive it did, right on schedule as Alice had estimated, and just in time for the Victoria Day holiday weekend.
And so here she is, my special girl, at her favourite place in the middle of the forest, standing proud and looking oh so sexy in her soft and voluptuous FanReal 155cm body.
The adventures will continue ...
By the way ... for any Canadian TDF member (or members from anywhere actually) looking for a trustworthy vendor with fast and friendly professional service, I can confidently recommend MyRobotDoll. All my questions were answered promptly in great detail. The one minor hiccup during the purchase process we did experience was resolved quickly by Alice to my complete satisfaction, communication throughout was great, and shipping and customs clearance (by their logistics company) was smooth and hassle free.
Four stars and definitely two thumbs up! Thanks Alice!

Re: Celia's Story & Adventures
Thank you D. I am very happy that my special girl will be able enjoy our beautiful summer and autumn season with me by the lake.
Thanks FoF. I hope it holds up better too. Zelex was a low cost budget silicone option, but I had certainly hoped it would last at least as long as her original TPE body that cost half as much. Alas, that wasn't to be.Flight of Fancy wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 11:15 am Congratulations on the new body. I hope it holds up better than the old one. If I need another doll (heaven forbid) I'll check out MyRobotDoll.
Thank you Vicvic. Celia is looking forward to many adventures at the cabin this summer, and we will be sure to share some photos.
Hi Jenny. Thank you. I am so happy to be up and healthy too. And so is M. He was so sad knowing that I was hurting. But he told me that he loved me every day, and that he was going to do whatever he could to make me better. I am so lucky to have him. He takes such good care of me.Jennyth1988 wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2024 3:34 pm Aww! Kevin and I know the pain of that situation all too well! We are so happy to see Celia up and healthy! I have that same outfit too...
LOL! We both have good sexy fashion sense I guess.
Thanks Wight. It will be very happy new season in the countryside for Celia and I. MyRobotDoll is a superb vendor. I paid an extra $180USD for their logistics company to handle all of the import and customs clearance tasks. Well worth the price, as had I tried to do it myself it would have cost me extra wait time, worry, and at least an extra 15% in tax plus any "processing" fees.Wight wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 1:47 pm Looks like a happy new season in the countryside for Celia! Congrats for the new body and how well the process went. I was wondering the customs duties from outside Canada (we have 24% on top of everything) but when the manufacturer is good that's the way to go.
It is always interesting phase to enter the holiday place after winter, seeing traces of weird storms. Our shed has a broken tree fallen on top, haha some chainsaw job to do.
This past winter seemed to be really bad for windstorms from the east and southeast. There are half a dozen eastern white pine 20m or taller in the immediate vicinity of the cabin that came down, and most of those did not blow over but snapped off 3-4m up from the ground. What a mess, but fortunately none on top of the buildings!
Thank you Flyer. Celia is very much looking forward to sharing all of her adventures at the cabin this summer. And I suspect Mr. Bojangles will be tagging along closely behind her for many of them.
Thanks for visiting Celia's little corner of TDF.
It was an expensive resolution, but worth every penny!
Cheers everyone! Let the adventures begin ...

Re: Celia's Story & Adventures
So I get up early on Saturday morning to pack for the cabin. Still lots of work to do there. As much as I enjoy (love) her company, it's a lot of extra effort to bring Celia along for just a 2-day weekend. It's a 3 hour drive there and back again, so not a lot of time to do what needs to be done before it's time to pack up and head back home to get ready for the work week. So it wasn't in the weekend plans to bring her along, but ...
... she looks at me with those beautiful big brown eyes and pleads "Please M., take me with you. Pretty please".
How could I say no? And so here she is, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air.
After lunch, she spent the afternoon watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. We have three females vying for aerial dominance around the deck, and we briefly saw a fourth. We haven't seen a male ruby throat yet, but you can bet they are around here somewhere. If these ladies all raise a brood, there are going to be lots of hummers later this summer and we are going to have to increase the sugar water budget. LOL!
And of course we had to bring Mr. Bojangles too. We couldn't leave him home all alone. He would have been frightened and would wonder where we went and if we were ever coming back.
It was a beautiful weekend, and I'm so glad that I agreed (okay, I folded like a cheap suit ) to bring her with me.
Lots of work to do at the cabin ... and I didn't get any of it done.

Other then that, really nice to see (though edited) Celia and SooYoung together.
And to have the joy of having Humming Birds visiting is something really special.

Thanks FoF. She is the perfect model ... and perfect cabin companion.Flight of Fancy wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 9:07 am What a sweet set of pictures. Celia is so photogenic -- the perfect model.
I'm glad I brought her along for the trip too. I do miss her when I am there all alone in the middle of the woods. And I know that she loves to come with me to the cabin.Jennyth1988 wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 12:47 pm I'm so glad you brought her! I hate when Kevin has to go on work trips and leave me behind! I am sure Celia appreciated it very much!
Indeed, I just can't say no when she looks at me with those soulful eyes. Celia is pleased to that you enjoyed the photos of her short weekend stay.
Hey Fr0stByte! Welcome back. Celia has missed your visits and cheeky comments.Fr0stByte wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 8:05 pm Celia looking fine on the deck there enjoying the sun trying to warm up it seems as she looks a little bit "chilly" in the photos! =) And if she can't go to the cottage with you she could always come over here and my girls will treat her well!! =0) But yup can't deny those eyes!!
And no, it was nice and warm on the deck, and despite certain apparent indications, she wasn't chilly. She just gets "excited" whenever she looks at or thinks about me.
Thanks gogo. I can't say no to her, and she knows it!
Hi Zlamvam. TaeYeon created that wonderful composite image of Celia and SooYoung enjoying supper at the cabin. The story behind the image is that SooYoung had a dream where she visited Celia in Canada to experience woodland adventures by the lake (link).Zlamvam wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 10:47 am Good to know your Girls body got replaced and fixed. And yes, it is a joyful and special experience to have hummingbirds visit. They come back every spring, and once they get comfortable with your presence, they'll fly around you and hover right in front of you. Many years ago we were lucky enough to have one nest in the pine tree right beside the cabin. After the young had fledged and left the nest, we retrieved the nest and have kept it on a shelf in the cabin ever since.
Thanks Flyer. Yes, it was absolutely the right decision to take her. In all honesty, it really wasn't that difficult a choice to make.
FanReal silicone body (and before that Zelex) with a TPE head (different manufacturer).
Hey AH, thanks for visiting Celia's little corner of TDF. We always try to entertain, and hopefully amuse, our visitors with stories of Celia's life.Alottahope wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 10:50 am Nice stories Arial! We love the bird life here in South Jersey. Lots of humming birds. Of course we put the feeder up every April 15th. They remember our location…I’m convinced we get the same birds back each season… we also have the wood ducks in our creek on our property… seen babies too…we put up 3 houses and I always throw whole corn in the water…they go nuts for that. Of course the females make all the noise…peep peep peep peep as they fly away.
Hummingbirds are such amazing little creatures. They fly so many thousands of kilometers from their winter homes every spring to breed and raise their young. I'm also certain that the adults and previous year's young return to the exact same location. I have witnessed them looking for a feeder that wasn't there because I was late putting it up. We only have one species (Ruby-Throated Hummingbird, Archilochus colubris) that comes this far north. They usually arrive here in Nova Scotia in early to mid May, and I usually try to have nectar ready for them when they get here.
Wood ducks are uncommon here, or they seem to be compared to other inland waterfowl. It is always a special treat to see one in the wild, especially the drakes. Now that we have seen one at the cabin, I'll need to try to have some nesting boxes up for next spring.
