New show starring Anna Kendrick with a sex doll, "Dummy"

Thanks for the link Anung! I just watched the whole thing, it was surprisingly good. I don't really like these types of shows usually, but I was interested to see how they portrayed dolls. I was happy to see that doll ownership was portrayed rather favorably, overall.

It was nice to see that Anna's character was very understanding, I can imagine it is hard for women to put themselves in a guy's mindset to understand why he would want a doll, even while in a relationship.

Some of the gags were pretty funny too, I definitely think it is worth a watch for anyone interested in dolls!

Very meta since the names and events are from the writer and her fiance and based on a true story, the writer is also the writer in the series writing for the series.

I really didn't like the first episode th esond was better- watching 3rd now and it is much better. It;s growing on me. I am not crazy about how they portray Dan as a guy who fucks his doll and throws in the closet without cleaning her.

Just finished the trailer. Somehow it would have been better if ...

1. Her boyfriend (who should have been younger ... this guy looks like her dad) had passed away, and she discovered the doll after his death, forcing her to reconcile aspects of their relationship. What had SHE perhaps hidden from him?

2. The doll did not move, leaving the audience to wonder if she really did talk, or the character was suffering from a nervous breakdown. Furthermore, the animation is distractingly bad, and a non-moving doll would have been less of an imaginative stretch.

But it's based on the writer Cody Heller and the writer of Rick and Morty, Dan Harmon ...and the fact is if you look at that couple in real life he does kinda look like her dad LOL . It's based on reality.

That's the main problem is she based it too close to reality rather than doing it as complete fantasy, it wasn't needed to air your dirty laundry and use real names and be autobiographical .

Would this be a show to for someone who is considering getting into the doll world to watch with their partner/ roommate/spouse to gauge their reaction or even "convert" them?
