As fun as this was, I just wanted to talk with her! She knew it, too. She could see what I was carrying. It was a nice day and I could use the exercise. Maybe that was why she was playing hard to get?

I chased her with my camera all through the tree! Eventually she appeared on a thick branch beside me. “That was fun, wasn’t it? Why don’t you come and play more often?”

“It’s a little… Nest, I guess? I know it’s not all real, but I’d like it if you’d come and visit me from time to time, too! I hoped it would be comfortable enough for you to spend some time with me inside from time to time.”

Rosebud stood up and leaned in to check it out.

Thank you, gogo! I got out there to do this shoot just in time! It probably doesn't look quite as Canadian by now. I believe it was -2 when I did that and the high has been above zero ever since. I think we hit 11 yesterday!

She has no name, no outfit, no nothing yet, but after fighting with heads as long as I have this evening, I just wanted to take a small victory photo! She's going to be a caster of some kind, and my goal is to have an outfit made for her within a month.

Either that sleep spell is starting to take hold, or it's past my bed time...

Thank you! I hope that the vision in my head is able to come to fruition. Custom staff, custom dress, I'm contemplating a hat... Actually no, her ears go out more than up. She's the perfect candidate for a hat! I might get lazy and use purchased footwear.

Just thinking about her while typing this reply is making me think about details! Time to go make some notes!

I was out at my parent's place recently and the whole family was there. I was able to go out while everyone was away and spend a bit of time alone... And I brought all my dolls! I spent some time hiding all of my minis through the house for a game of hide and seek! Unfortunately I apparently forgot to take photos of two of them, but I got the best ones. With 4 people looking I think it took them at least an hour to spot them all. It was a lot of fun! I might make it a bit of a tradition whenever I'm able. With the size of them it will be a little hard to keep coming up with original locations for them, but it's a lot of fun!

Glissa, smelling the cooking meat in the nearby crock pot, camped out in the kitchen.

Saffee hung out on the mantle, her darker skin helping her to blend in.

My personal favorite was Helena. She took it upon herself to redecorate a little, flipping this star upside down to, uh, make a comfortable seat for herself.

Rosebud wasn't really hidden, standing ready to welcome people in. As seen previously here, she'd been busy that day!

Evey was the other photo I missed. She was inside a cupboard with a glass door.

The angel and demonic hiding spots for Angelica and Helena are so very appropriate.

Surprisingly, considering her obvious red color, Helena was one of the last to be found. She was above eye level, but had sightlines that allowed her to be seen from the far side of the house in two different directions. I guess she was juuuust high enough to evade notice! Saffee was also well hidden. My mom looked directly at her from 6-8 inches away and somehow didn't spot her. My dad was looking at the other side of the mantle at the same time and was working his way across, and because my mom had just looked there he stopped just before she would have come into his view. Bastet evaded notice for awhile (my mom, again, looked pretty much directly at her but she was hidden in the shadows) but was found about halfway through. It was a ton of fun!

I'm going to my sister's place this weekend. I'm planning on taking one mini, probably Glissa, with me (Arachne is coming too!). I'm thinking I'm going to hide her as many times as possible through the weekend. Maybe I'll take some shots from further back and let you guys play eye-spy!

So happy you get to share your love of your girls with your family!

I am truly blessed! When I told them all about them I knew I was running a risk of creating a large divide between us, but I think it's actually brought us closer. For example, my mom and I actually share an interest now! I'm learning to sew (something I did learn in middle school but haven't done outside of minor clothing repair since) to make doll outfits. Progress hasn't been good yet, but we'll get there!

My new elf has picked the color she wishes to be adorned in.
