Do-it-yourself doll made of textiles, padding polyester and plastic tubes

Post by Mister Designer »

Hi all! I want to show how you can make a cuddling and sleeping doll with your own hands and from available materials. If anyone is interested, I can show you how I make them. Completely free :D

Hello to all puppeteers!
I sew the body of my dolls from fabric according to certain patterns. torso and arms. legs (thighs with shins). feet - all these are separate parts. Then I sew them all together into a single design. I stuff the doll's body with holafiber. it becomes soft, elastic and looks appetizing. Next, the head of the pupa is produced. which I do as follows: I sew a cloth bag and stuff it very tightly with light synthetic material. after which I apply an oval sheet of foam rubber to the front of the head. I cover it with knitted fabric on top and sew it to the head blank. after which I begin to use special felting needles to roll the padding polyester onto the foam base towards the “face”. I shape the forehead, eye sockets, nose, mouth, cheekbones, chin. this is the most creative part of the job. since I sculpt a face from a photograph of a real woman, this is essentially a facial sculpting activity. After working out the relief of the face, I insert plastic doll eyes from Aliexpress into the eye sockets and carefully tighten and cover the entire face and head with knitwear. This is very painstaking and leisurely work. after which I tint and decorate the doll’s face with shadows from women’s cosmetics. after which I sew the head to the body. I put a wig on her and voila: my new girlfriend is ready! This was a shortened job description. I would like to share my work experience here in more detail. with photographs, patterns of parts and diagrams. I am not looking for any commercial benefit for myself here. I'm interested in communicating with like-minded people. for example, discussing ways to more constructively address certain technical issues. and simply evaluating and approving (or not approving) the results of your work. Still, do my dolls look like those women whose appearance I tried to convey to them? something like that.

I understand that without photos of my works, all this is empty chatter. when it becomes possible to post your photos it will be a completely different calico (this is an idiom))).

I like to make life-size dolls with the appearance of ex-girlfriends and celebrities. Well, of course, to the extent of one’s depravity and abilities))). I am not a professional artist and I just brazenly assigned myself the nickname “Mr. Designer” under the influence of the old Soviet film “Mr. Designer” from 1987.))))
I'm still trying to get enough upvotes to get permission to post photos of my crafts here.

I am most interested in the body structure of textile Japanese dolls such as Meiki and Dekunobu and Eastern European ones such as TextileDoll. Specifically, the hip part of their body is of interest to me. legs bending at the hips. which allows them to both stand and sit. I would like to reproduce a doll with this property myself. my homemade ones do not yet have this property. their legs bend only at the knees.

Thanks for the praise. Very good. I want everyone who wants to learn to do the same and even better. That's why I came here. to evaluate my dolls and popularize this craft among the guys))) Of course, you can do it even better. I'm just very lazy. I work only when inspiration strikes me. There are people in the world much more capable than me. Maybe I will be able to motivate them with my example and we will see real masterpieces in this craft. )))
I'm currently working on a Christy Canyon doll. but too slow. Not in the mood
