Re: What repair adhesive actually works?

I’m talking about adhesives that don’t solidify into a hard substance after application. I casually bought a bottle of glue advertised specifically for TPE dolls on amazon and after applying, it turned into a hard, brittle substance that feels uncomfortable. Not sure if I was using it correctly or ...

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

Damn ... please stop. Really, please stop ! A while back I made a comment: ... However this all assumes that your doll still has decent TPE composition. If you are seeing similar cases where the TPE seems to be breaking down on it own, then that is a different and more serious problem. and later a ...

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

image.jpg Well, I officially give up. The heat gun advice as you guys gave me DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I even tried to do it at a distance of 4 inches on low setting for around an hour. The worst part about working with this is these flaky specs of TPE that materialize make it IMPOSSIBLE for a decent f...

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

And in my experience Bandage adhesives have ALWAYS damaged the TPE. I'm sure there is an exception, but not in my house there isn't. Total no-no. They can’t do more damage than attempting to repair it. Right? I appreciate your encouragement for me to continue but my family’s discouraging me from do...

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

I’ve also made a lot of fumes during the process even though I had the door to outside open and had a blower running and the remaining 2/3 of time into working on my doll, I wore a respirator. I spent an hour working on her. Should I still be concerned about my health?

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

Well I fucked up again. After trying to apply heat, I only made it worse. The crater is now the size of a golf ball. I’m just realizing I’m at a severe disadvantage that makes it virtually impossible to achieve even what seems to be a simple fix. I have no heat resistant gloves, toxic chemicals are ...

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

OK, I’ve used only TPE glue and my own hands for this operation. I had some spare TPE from the additional head that came with her. It’s still looks ugly but it’s better than the hole. If only there was some sort of clamp that existed to hold the sides of the skin towards the cut…

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

Sorry for my earlier rant. I’ll take whatever you guys posted (use of heat gun) into consideration. But in the meantime, I’m gonna cover the crater with flesh colored, self adhering bandage tape.

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

Nothing non-toxic is safe and effective to use on TPE damage like this Making a paste of TPE and the 3M 94 product or Xylene reduces the toxicity, but only very slightly 3M VHB Tape Universal Primer UV is a less toxic adhesion promoter but should be exposed to bright sunlight for a while to reduce ...

Re: A small tear turned into a crater

Check the TPE section for other repair work then start a thread, you will get lots of ideas. Looking at the damage you will need to melt some TPE into the damaged crater. First step is to lightly wet the target area with 3M 94 primer to improve adhesion, then melt in some TPE using a soldering iron...

A small tear turned into a crater

I’m in a terrible position here. Some time ago, I’ve begun noticing a slight tear on my doll’s left hand shoulder. After a duration of cheap and pitifully unsuccessful attempts at sealing the cut, I’ve ended up with this hideous looking crater in the picture provided. Simply pinching after applying ...

Separated Finger

Hello. This morning I have discovered a horrifying reality: my tpe doll’s middle finger (yes literally and unfortunately) had been torn off. I’ve temporarily reattached it via a fuzzy stick but I’m seeking permanent solutions. Help me please! Thanks!
