Re: Plastic feet bolt

I use these plastic bolt caps I got at Lowes. I also put a neoprene rubber washer between the cap and her feet for extra protection. Haven't made any sock holes. Haven't even made holes in nylons...yet. Hey!! I shop at Lowe's also! I overlooked these when I was there buying new standing bolts for m...

* UPDATE *

On November 29th I had my first contact from the warranty team at SL. This was the same day I made my damage report, so a near instant response. Fantastic! I sent my reply email the same day as well. I will summarize below their initial email and my reply... They offered me some advice on standing b...

Re: Cleaning doll with water only? Starpery Advice

Hello @Upper, My colleagues will often recommend washing with clean water+ soft towel, cuz this is a relatively cautious & effetive method. Not saying soap can't be used, just considering the acidic/alkaline ingredients of soap may damage skin pigments(organic materials). We tested the dolls' c...

Re: Cleaning doll with water only? Starpery Advice

I use mild hand soap from a sprayed bottle, allowed to dwell and then rinsed with a flexible shower head at max hot.. I have "jar sponges" from Amazon for internals. The key to painted dolls is to minimize abrasions, especially from contact that's not your hands/body..I don't ever use a r...

Re: Cleaning doll with water only? Starpery Advice

It’s an understandable thing - they can’t know what soaps will have what affect. Many soaps have oils and other things in them and that would definitely damage things like body paint over time. Minor damage is going to happen regardless though so really you can use a mild soap and body painting fea...

Re: Customer Support after receiving my doll

Sorry if the advice was out of line. Frankly, I wasn’t aware of the official “TDF Moderation process” until I ran across a thread where a doll owner had shared a warranty issue that they had some initial difficulty getting resolved. The information I shared was based on the gist of that thread. I h...

Re: DIY rolling doll rack

Nice construction. I approve. I'd like to suggest drilling a hole in the top beam so that a turnbuckle with a hook and ring can fit through. You can put this hook from the photo into the ring, and hang the doll by the lanyard hook. I've never used a turnbuckle before and had to Google it. I l...

Re: DIY rolling doll rack

Thats a usefull transport! Maybe the higher middle part can be used to hold the feet in place while transporting. Put a rubber band across the feet and behind the middle wood bar, to hold the feet in place. Would stop the doll from swinging and touching the other wood bars with her arms and hands. ...

DIY rolling doll rack

Originally, I was thinking of storing my doll under my bed. First in her original box, then later a sliding drawer that I wanted to make. Well, I underestimated her breasts  and my bed ended up being a couple inches too short. Thankfully I recognized this before starting any fabrication. I put ...

Thanks for saying so! In my short time in the doll world, I have heard of people with much worse luck. All in all, I am optimistic it will work out.

Re: Customer Support after receiving my doll

I’d be pretty gutted too if my new muse suffered tears like those you experienced. I’m sorry that happened. Was your doll made to order or one that was already in inventory? Was it a brand on the TDF “recommended list”? I have seen a few posts from people who experienced similar tears with their ne...

I wouldn't call it a nightmare. But it is something I have to navigate that I would rather not. I am sure it will work out.

I am just glad I bought my doll through a vendor so they can handle all the heavy lifting for me.

Customer Support after receiving my doll

Within the first week of my new doll ownership, I ran into three problems. Foot bolts do not extend beyond the silicone skin. Being a new doll owner, I did not see this as a problem. After standing my doll up, one of the bolts ended up cutting the skin around it. The factory installed bolts were alr...
