I'm considering a Starpery TPE with weight reduction (the 169C precisely).
If able to tell, does the weight reduction affect play time in any negative way?
Weight reduction adds a foam core to the doll that makes her a little firmer and less spongy feeling if that makes since.
Indeed this was my understanding as well
I do agree that we can live with a wrinkle if the doll's usable in bed. IIRC, I considered Starpery for my first doll a few years back, but the weight was the major reason I didn't get one (lack of oral sex was another one, but it's slightly off topic).4891d wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 12:08 pm
Thanks for your very accurate feedback.![]()
Weight reduction is a huge step forward and Starpery was one of the pioneers. I think their 171 C and D model are the ones that go the furthest in this direction. It is probably to minimize the cons that Starpery later released heavier models like the 172 D. The good thing is that the brand offers this variety that allows one to choose according to their priorities and possibilities. In my case, the 171 cm model would be the only possibility to have a very tall Starpery doll that I would be able to handle.
I've already seen this type of wrinkle on pictures of dolls with very high weight reduction (from two different brands). I think it's due to the fact that the inner and outer layers don't deform the same way when bent and then they don't snap back into place the same way.
If it can snap back into place with a little massage and doesn't get worse over time, that seems like an acceptable inconvenience to me in light of the very significant weight drop. I hope this will remain a minor issue.
Only one brand so far seems to have managed to eliminate all the cons of weight reduction, but it is much more expensive than most.
