I think there are quite a few professionals on the forum who repair and restore dolls. There is a lot to learn here. It's important to help each other .

Baby oil is probably the most versatile cleaner and preserves well. Unfortunately, not everything is removable with olive oil. I often use toothpaste with baking soda or acne cream . Stains that I have not been able to remove I mask with make-up powder.

I unknowingly left my doll sat on some lube and it has stained her otherwise fine booty, she's been in the bath all day (it's not full of water obviously) and I've been wiping the stained area with baby oil every few hours, it looks better but is still very noticeable, do you think I should just keep doing this for a while longer? Or is it time to break out the toothpaste?

Be careful with soaking the doll in the bathtub because water goes everywhere. If you are 100% sure that water is not leaking inside then there is probably no contraindication. Add some photos here maybe we can work something out. Or maybe someone visiting this post has had a similar case
