First time buyer, interested in a anime.
First time buyer, interested in a anime.
I have decided to buy me a doll and really likes the idea of the cuddle potential of a fabric doll and I'm not a hardcore anime fan but the doll looks really good.
I have however some (stupid) questions.
How is the eye selecting work, is you only selecting the eye color and shape or only the color?
Is there any difference between the regular skin and the pink, beside the color?
How much space do I need when hiding the doll (I want the 150cm), unluckily I will need to hide her quite often and have limited space, I know these dolls is shipped in a very small box but is it save to pack the doll so tight every time? This is a non problem because I will make room for her.
Sorry if my English isn't perfect.

To answer your questions, the best way to get the eyes you want is to send them a high definition picture of the character you are trying to emulate. The eyes are printed on a piece of plastic and set inside the head, which means they can get the eye shape pretty much exactly like you want. Try to get a picture of the front of the face, just to make it as accurate as possible. You can ask any anime owner here, and they will happily oblige if you want to see examples of eye shapes. BD also has lots of choices too, but they're all quite similar and may not be what you would like. Hunt around for your preference.
As far as skintone, you can pick from regular and tan, and pink. Tan isn't super dark, though.
As far as storage goes, yes, she comes in a fairly small box with her head detached, but I wouldn't recommend storing her that way. She comes curled upin a little ball, and I'm sure it wouldn't be healthy for her joints. While you can take her head off easily, doing that repeatedly would wear out the socket. My girl just sits on a little shelf in the closet, and I have a keyed lock on the doorknob. However, I have also considered this and you can try it: you can purchase clothing keepers for storing suits that hang in the closet. They are bigeenough to hide shapes inside, and usually have a small place for a padlock to keep people from prying. I would loop a rope under her arms for support and hang her from the bar in the keeper, then hang the whole thing up and padlock it. It should work, unless you have someone who regularly raids your closet.

Seems like the only question kinda unanswered is the skin color. I've heard that the pink color (While new) is of a softer, thinner material than the normal or tan skin. Storing the doll should be easy enough. It's true that it's not a good idea to keep her in the same way as she came in the small box and to be quite honest, it kind of worries me that those dolls are "crammed" in a small box like that (I hope that gets changed, since it wouldn't hurt for the box to be a little bigger)

As far as hiding the doll: I have stored my Anime Fabric Doll curled up in her original box. The skeleton seems to be handling this position fine with no damage. There is even some leftover space in the box, so you can store clothing, inserts, toys, etc.. in the box with her. I then simply pull a couple bungee cords around the box and store it in my attic. It would be better not to have to store the doll this way, but the doll has been undamaged by this treatment. The total space required for the filled up box is fairly small, especially compared to some other dolls. I own the 130cm doll, but it appears that the extra 20cm is just in the legs anyway; therefore, you shouldn't have much extra "doll bulk" to store.

Is the model shown in the following thread available? Folks keep mentioning plush. I know one member who likes the blushing. The doll is definitely very cute.

Think I will go with a 150cm doll with normal skin, large breasts and try to get similar eyes as in the picture.
(http://pochi.x.fc2.com/k_kisekae2.html the site I created the picture from, quite fun to play around with.)
The best case scenario would be if don't need to hide the doll, but it would still be hard for me to explain why I suddenly have a giant anime doll.5000 wrote:
I don't know if you will need to hide the doll. The anime doll doesn't really look like a perverted sex toy. I just dress my dolls and leave out. You can find a box.. It would need to be about 5ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft. Might even fit under a bed I think.
I have probably found a place to store the doll anyway, just need to find a big enough box and hopefully I will soon move to a place with a bit more room.
