Delivery box size of G49 doll

Post by nigelakins »

I have very limited space in my apartment, but would love to buy the Zelex G49 Jennifer 170cm doll. Unfortunately I don't have the type of bed that has any real usable space underneath (it's has a 6 inch height space off the floor).

Does anyone know what box size she is delivered in? As I may want to use the delivery box itself to store her away in my closet.

Hello.
I would suggest getting her in standing feet option..
Make room inside your closet to safely stand her against a wall..
I would also suggest putting some nice thick soft socks on her feet
and getting a size larger shoe then she wears ..
This makes her stand better without as much pressure on her feet.
I do not know of many beds that you could store the box they come in
under your bed.
Lean her inside the closet against a block of memory foam or very soft
pillow.

Thanks for the advice, it's highly appreciated. But I would still prefer to obtain the delivery box measurements so I can figure out if it's possible to lay the box down on the floor or up against the wall (in the closet), and to also to determine how much room I have in my car to transport it. I'm contemplating using the box for discreetness, as odd as that may sound, but it makes sense to my living arrangement.

Unless you have a 2 Wheeler or what some call a Hand Truck or unless you are some kinda
body builder it is very unlikely you will put her into her box and just pick up the box and slide it
into the back of a car ...
Now if you have a truck or maybe a SUV with a large area in the back of it you can slide the box
in then maybe you will travel around with the box in your vehicle..
But I am just being honest with you ..
I own a 165 and I had to use a two wheeler to wheel the box into the house ..
These dolls are very heavy..
Just because I could pick up my ex wife at around 98lbs I can tell you it was MUCH simpler to pick
her up and actually run with her if I wanted to but my 165 Zelex at around the same weight is so much
different to carry..
Dead weight is a HUGE difference..

Standing her in a closet will be sooooo much better then trying to put her back into the box and move
her and the box around.
But you can try..

The 170s box is most likely longer then my 165s box was but here are the sizes of the box that mine came in..
The box was just around 5 ft long, 1 and a half foot wide and one foot deep.

Someone else will surely post a response with the sizes there box was with there 170.
Good luck

Nigelakins,

I agree with John2972.

I also recommend hanging your doll. If your arrangements demand secrecy then put a lock on your closet. If you don't own a closet than buy or make a tall cabinet.

Stand her up if neccessary, but do whatever it takes to avoid storing your doll lying down. This isn't just to protect the doll, but also your back!

Thanks for your advice. I'm a bit surprised and somewhat frustrated to hear how heavy the dolls are. I REALLY want one, but I'm having serious doubts getting one now. I live in an apartment complex that has a security gate on the ground floor and most delivery companies here will often leave a note requiring me to pickup the package by car from their collection depot instead. So I would need to put the box into my average-sized sedan car, and then upon returning back home would then need to lift the box out of the car and up into my apartment on the second floor. From what you're telling me, this sounds virtually impossible. How else does anyone get on in this scenario? I'm really hoping there is a way to achieve this.

Standing her up is definitely an option - I just did a quick measure in my closet.

However, as mentioned in my response to John1972, I'm having serious doubts about getting the doll into my apartment on my own. It sounds like the weight of these dolls are a real issue for most people. Not sure what to do, as I really want to get one.

Your situation should be OK. Get a hand truck. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08X1WTP ... B001HBH1BM

When the doll arrives, if anyone asks what it is tell them, "it's a wooden shelf I need to put together".

I bought a bunch of stuff to move my doll around viewtopic.php?f=584&t=145550

So far, I've only used the rolling office chair, the hand truck, and the wheelchair. The rest of the stuff will probably never be used. I'll need to have a garage sale one day...

Once you get the doll indoors all you need is a rolling chair and a blanket or two.

A cheap winch for lifting to hang will be my next purchase.

Getting a hand truck is a fantastic idea! I never thought of that. Now I feel like I’m back in the market for a Zelex doll.

I mentioned this..
We call them a Two Wheeler lol.
But yes a hand truck they are called as well..
If the drop off point is not far from your apartment
you can have someone help you get it on the two wheeler
and then wheel it to your apartment.
Like ZombieWinter said once it is inside your apartment you
are fine.
You will learn ways to carry and move her around the apartment..
Zelex Silicone is very firm and durable I often stand in front of her
put my arms around her like I am going to hug her and then grab
and lean back lifting her feet off the floor..
Take a few steps back and let her down softly ..
Go behind her and do the same thing now you are behind her and you
can just lean back and walk slowly with her standing up ..
Be careful of her breast if you do this and hold lower below them.
That is how I move my girls around my smaller bedroom because
its better then picking her up as I keep shoes on them if I pick them
up and walk around in tight spaces they are kicking everything in your
house if you do not watch where your going lol.

It is also smart to keep her near a bed..
Why you ask?
Well if she is standing in your closet you will probably end up having to
carry her like I said above..
The reason is if you do not have a bed near to lay her down on so you can
bend her legs into a kinda sitting pose so you can get under the back of
the legs and carry her in the Bridal mode you will be stuck carrying her
either standing or with her legs strait and sticking out once again hitting
into everything lol.
It is best to carry her out of the closet while standing by getting behind
her like I said above ..
Walk her out and over to the bed..
Sit down slowly while rocking her back with you lifting some as you lean
back to lift her feet off the floor and then partly on top of you ..
You can then leave her laying partly on the bed and her legs hanging off
the bed..
Bend them into a sitting pose and then bend the knees some..
She will have some weight now on both ends and you should be able to
rock her onto her butt and reach under her bent legs and other arm under
her back and pick her up and carry her in bridal pose.
Also when doing this it is the most important thing you pay very close
attention to her hands.
I wrap my girls hands with Ace Bandages and fold the arms in close to
her belly when carrying her.

Lots of people like to leave there dolls sitting I am sure this is probably the case
as its much simpler to pick her up from a sitting pose then a strait flat body..
And even worse if she is standing strait as well.
I have yet to really figure out how to grab her while standing and bend her
legs into bridal without laying her down first..

You might want to debate on the 165 after they do there weight reduction..
The 170 I am told is over 100lbs ..
Just trying to get the box off the Hand Truck yourself and onto the floor is
gonna be a job..
It really is best to try and find someone to help you get the box into your
house and on the floor laying flat..
Then when they are gone you can take your time getting her out of the box .

Also sorry for making such a long post but one more thing..
It is in your best interest to KEEP the box she came in.
So do not cut the sides of the box like some people say to do ..
Yes its simpler to get her out this way but the box is your friend..
And latter on down the road if you plan to move or sell the doll even you will
have this box..
You will have a VERY hard time finding a box like it again if you ever have to
pack her up to sell her or move her..

Its all good lol.
This happens a lot due to the fact people do not like to read my post..
I tend to post long post and most people just like tossing the long instructions
that come with things into the garbage can just skip over my long post lol..

But on a serious note..
Even with the issues I have with the first gen model I got I completely LOVE
my Zelex and really hope to get one of there second generation models when
they release them with the new hands and softer heads and weight reduction..
I am extremely hyped about how this turns out for Zelex..
I have honestly looked at many doll companies and I just really am drawn to
the Zelex company and love so much about what they do with there dolls that
I really do believe if they worked out the couple things I had issues with that
these dolls are almost perfect in my opinion ...

If this nigelakins person gets one and takes his time learning how to move her
around and clean her and care for her I believe that anyone in time with one
of these dolls will also grow to see what I see as well..
They are great dolls and I just LOVE the silicone they use its firm and durable
but yet soft in the right places..
nigelakins just get one man and take your time and learn how to care for her
and stuff and I really do think in time you will love her too

I totally agree. Zelex has impressed me with their quality. There is no better silicone doll for the money. My Premium Series 147 is a true work of art, and I can't wait until my brand new 155 arrives!

Wow great sets of instructions and points to consider - thanks john1972!

I was initially looking at the Starpery range of dolls with a TPE body, but have now shifted my interest to a Zelex silicone doll as they look far more realistic in my opinion, and I want the doll to look as realistic as possible! The silicon body is apparently more durable as well. I've read many comments that the Zelex range of silicone dolls has good softness in the right areas.

I'm really interested in getting G49 Jennifer with an additional head (G46 Valerie). But apparently she weighs 44kgs/97lbs. So I'm really curious about the second generation of (lighter) dolls that you mentioned Zelex are working on. Do you know when they're likely to have the 2nd gen dolls available?

I live in a small apartment and my bedroom has limited space but I'm sure I can make it work. Thankfully my closet is literally just feet away from the bed. I have every intention in keeping the box, particularly for future storage and transit.

The only other consideration that I can't decide on is the skin color - I don't see much difference between 'white' and 'fair' skin when viewing the skin tone selections on my computer screen. Is the 'fair skin' darker or whiter than the 'white skin' color?

Nigelakins,

You're at the point in your discovery where over analyzing becomes paralyzing. Here's what you should do:

Buy a hand truck. Buy a Zelex 170cm G49 in fair skin. Problem solved. You'll have plenty of time to research and learn as you're waiting weeks for your girl to arrive. Dolls aren't getting any cheaper, and Zelex is the best silicone bang for the buck.

Here's my response to your skin question: viewtopic.php?f=569&t=144283&p=2020474#p2020474
