Lars and the Real Girl (2007)

Lars is a typical loser, living in a small town and being touchingly shy. One day, he brings his new girlfriend - sex doll Bianca, booked over the internet - to his brother and his wife's house. But instead of sex, Lars craves a real and affectionate relationship and treats Bianca accordingly. But how to explain this to the inhabitants of a small town? Fortunately, everyone likes Lars and soon Bianca is attending church, working as a sex doll in a dress shop and volunteering at the local hospital. Will Lars find sympathy in his community?

A time has come in the near future when natural resources are slowly running out and technology is expanding unstoppably. Evolved robots cater to all their owners' needs, but there is one exception. It is love, which is the last frontier that machines have not yet been able to overcome. Researchers at Cybertronics Manufacturing are the first to build a robot that is programmed to love. His name is David, and he is adopted on an experimental basis by a married couple whose child is in artificial sleep waiting for a serum to be developed for the deadly disease from which he suffers. David is to be raised by his family in a loving and caring environment, which, as part of the research, should treat him like their own child. Only, events occur that will blow all plans to pieces once and for all.

Caleb Smith, a twenty-six-year-old programmer for the world's largest internet company, wins a contest to win a week's stay at the private mountain retreat of the company's brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman. But when Caleb arrives at the remote location, he finds that he will have to take part in a strange and fascinating experiment in which he is forced to interact with the world's first real artificial intelligence, housed in the body of a beautiful robotic girl named Ava.

Her is set in Los Angeles in the near future. Theodore is a complicated and sensitive man who makes his living writing touching and personal letters to others. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes interested in a new, advanced operating system that its manufacturer claims is a completely unique and intuitive entity. After installing it, he meets "Samantha," an artificial intelligence with a sweet female voice who has interesting insights, is sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and demands grow along with his, their friendship turns into a genuine mutual love.

Loosely inspired by a series of popular Japanese manga by Yoshii Gōdo, this slightly tragicomic tale tells the remarkable story of a seemingly ordinary inflatable doll, Nozomi, and her owner, Hideo. Unexpectedly, Nozomi sets out to explore Tokyo in the absence of her owner Hideo, where she not only encounters the emptiness of the world around her, but soon finds herself caught in the web of love with Junichi, a local video store employee, with whose help she also lands her first job. Everything seems perfect, but only until another unexpected break in the idyllic relationship comes for Nozomi. The main theme of the film is the loneliness of life in the city in contrast to the multitude of people and the hectic lifestyle, and above all the question of what does it mean to be human?
