I use CuteFTP which does something like this. It basically tells them, "This guy viseted 13 shoe stores, five electronics sites, and 4 porno sites." They compile the demographics across the US and/or abroad... then tell the shoe company, "hey... the Midwest is a hot market for your product..."
Too many will slow your system down... I live with the one in CuteFTP because the program is useful. I also run a program that removes those types of software... but I set it to ignore the "advert" so I can use CuteFTP. Small price for free software.
Some of them... like doubleclick... will load up your cookies and do multiple relays... I don't like that one... and avoid pages that use it. (As much as possible) But... I still end up with it ever single time I run the "Ad-Aware" software.
You can get your copy by clicking here.

I've been using alot of those free ISP's out there, especially Netzero. And Ad Aware has been one of the best pieces of software I have used. It's pretty good. I can't recommend it enough. Here's another place to download it for free:

But I like the registered version a whole lot! If the freeware is half as good, then it's bound to be worth the money!
It doesn't look like "banner-ware." In fact, looking at it closely, I can't see a difference between the trial version and the full version that I just bought yesterday [ GRRRRR!]
The free version of their HTML editor [which I was using until I bought the full version] didn't have a banner problem. If you download one of their free programs, you'll get a monthly "newsletter" from them, [which I've found is usually worth looking at!] but, apart from that, they won't bombard your e-mail with a boatload of crap.

I use a piece of software that traps anti-virus attempts, registry activity, programs attempting to talk out the internet (which you can allow or deny, once or forever) - the works. It's a component called Murphy from Central Command, but since I installed it they've done updates, etc and now call it Vexira. It's clued me into programs stuffing things into the registry for start-up. Quite nice and very geeky

Just pick the girl you like, and click the enter free chat option. You can listen to them on their microphones, and watch them play with themselves. I just talked to this chick from Canada. It's pretty good. The chat application kinda looks like that program up top. But it has nothing to do with this topic. hahahahaha!!!
