A Possiable Fix for TPE dolls Neck Problems.

Post by Samurai »

I have 3 dolls with the loose creaking neck syndrome, this is where you get that creaking noise every time the head moves and also you the head flops and rolls around about loosley.

This fix might not be for everyone, but if you want to stop the creaking and have her head stay in one place then this might suit you.

Idealy it takes 2 people though i did this on my own but was a bitch to do.

You have to peel the tpe away from the neck rod to expose this flexiable rod.

Basicly its like a bandage which you wet then wrap around tightly the exposed neck rod once it sets its as hard has steel.

I have done this now with 3 dolls that had the problem, Now there is no more creaking noise and the heads remain upright.

The down side is you can still swivel the head from left to right etc (no), but you can't move it up and down/forward and back (yes)

Its something to think about if you want to attempt to fix your dolls neck.

The.. creeking neck in large TPE dolls is due to a wire based neck? Noooooooooooooooooo. I had hoped it was because it was a proper hinge joint...
Every day people remind me why I like dolls better.

Would it be better to add lubricant oil to that part?

Oil has the potential to solve one problem and create another by softening the TPE
Graphite powder is a dry lubricant and doesn't react with anything (that I know of) :)
