It would be a pretty labour-intensive business, with the weight of most dolls. The ones they showed for rent all were over 80 pounds of wobbly, plus the hassle involved with safely packing and moving them. And, there could be incidents involving moving a human-sized box in and out of places, daily? And incidents with clients being weirdos, or not being careful, like in most businesses!

Still, the rates they charged seemed high enough to reflect those challenges. I wonder what has slowed them down?

I've not had a chance to try their service, I hope I can.

Don't think its viable due to reasons you mention, apart from the risk of the person renting being liable of damages.

Try (sexually) before you buy is not necessary.

They should allow a client to try by touching and inspecting a standing doll. This would be useful for anyone thinking of buying.

They would need to have an unpacked, unwrapped doll for each model, a bit difficult. As soos as a doll is removed from its protective plastic wrap and handled its not "new" anymore

That's actually a great point, I wonder if any vendors have tried showrooms like that. Being able to see and touch a doll would indeed be helpful for buyers, especially first-time buyers.

I did have the chance to "try before buying" a doll; in Toronto, there used to be two "doll brothels," and I was able to experience being with a doll. That helped me immensely because I didn't really know if a doll would work for me or not, sexually; those experiences helped me find out that yes, it did work for me very well, and gave me confidence to invest in one.

Also, I learned about some things I definitely *didn't* like. (Solid TPE breasts, for example, especially in large breasts) And some things I *did* like, such as how beautiful I found the face, I didn't realize how important that would be to me, as part of the sexual experience.
