Well, those are super cute photos Ragnar66 (albeit a little fuzzy)... I like the eye contact and your doll has some cool aura about her. By the way, these are not crappy examples at all, it takes guts to show the world what you do, and you've just done that. You can be proud!

Thanks Val! Yeah, I´m snap shooting with a low end phone cam exclusively (Samsung A20S). Fuzziness comes from the phone not storing pics in RAW format. While I can "work" with 4k images, they´re all JPG compressed and I can´t get rid of that when beeing imported to GIMP. Thus I limit my to be published photo shooting/editing results to 2 - 2.5K only. Anyway... I don´t aim for pics that are zoomable to the single hair. Other "problems" is my dolls are downscaled versions of "normal" sized ones (IT 163cm to 155cm) combined with various sized heads (undersize and true to mature female size). Both dolls have various damages, some invisible, others very severe, that limit their ability to be photographed. I hide and disguise those ugly areas as much as I can though. So part of my motivation loss is those barriers preventing me from better photo shooting. Otherwise I´d be very much interested applying to your course.

Thanks for posting more of your photos! I like the one with the wand and the sitting red-head has quite some eyes! Yeah, I can see you're having fun with historical themes and strong women. Oh man, don't get me started on bizarre things... lol Well, the way I see your photos and work is that you have an eye for details, and that you're not afraid to go bold. For sure, a few elements can be improved, but I can clearly see that you're very creative. I definitely think you can go far with your doll photos, by structuring your work and following a few guidelines. Nice to hear about your music hobby, I did some music back in the days too (MOD music on Amiga / Atari STE, yep, man, that was a loooooong time ago)...

Hey Val! Yeah, I´ve fun with everything creative and that transports emotions. (I´m amateur rock/metal musician since 43 years btw) Well, I like women who express self-confidence, strength and a well developed personality. That i.e could be women like film/series or real human characters that lived in history or today. I´ve great interest in history (and gathered knowledge) as well. And of course I like erotic and women who skillfully put this in scene. (not porn necessarily) Humour and something more bizarre is another thing I like. This as a very condensed description of my interests and what I aim for in my doll photography. Here´s another few photo examples that I think describes it quite well:

But I´d be very interested on your guidelines and detail feedback too. I´ve to think again if I can and want to participate at this course. A fresh start with new doll and decent DSLR cam would benefit me the most for that. But that´s not going to happen for at least another year unfortunately. For music production I´m fully outfitted now. So better put my focus there I think. One can´t have it all and life´s too short. So good luck and fun to all course takers!

Hello Dreamlight!....I also signed up for the online Doll Art Club.

At present, I am primarily doing photo themes with my doll that are available as links in my signature below.
In general, I am looking at overall improvements with indoor and outdoor type photo shoots similar to what I am doing now. Of course, I may get into other stuff at a later date.
For instance, I have taken my doll to the beach a few times cause that is my best current approach, however I see in your setup that I need to have some different creative method at times which could be helpful.
Specific feedback on camera setup and post-editing will obviously be of most use to me.
I have a midrange mirror less camera, basic soft boxes and speedlite. Using PS elements (new) and not familiar with DAZ.
I would be most interested in the simplest suggestions first so I am not always lugging around a bunch of equipment (particularly outdoors).
Anyways... Will start to look into the video library....

Hey, welcome aboard! Nice Corvette, and great beach setting! Totally, minor adjustments are what often can make big changes. It's like the trajectory of a rocket, you re-align it a notch, and get a different destination. Especially when you do this with a few elements at the same time, you can get away with vastly improved photos. I'll be focusing on posing, lighting and camera framing a lot, since that's what I know makes the biggest difference. And post work of course! Again, glad to see you onboard, looking forward to seeing more photos from you!

Discussions with like minded ppl is another great opportunity. The more that it´s very hard to initiate and maintain similar discussions at TDF.
