Re: Grave mistake

I don't have an air brush. my suggestion is if you can get one, do it. if you can't, consider spray cans. spraying goes on a lot smoother than brushes. brush strokes are a lot more noticeable at 1:1 scale compared to miniatures. I doubt you'll be repainting the face, and it was hard to find, but he...

Re: Eyeball modifications?

I am curious as to how you created your "door". Could you post any pics about that? I didn't do a very good job, but someone with some skill should be able to make one seamless. The hard part is getting a hinge on a curved surface. i accomplished it with some wood inserts to provide a fla...

Go deep inside the Real Doll Factory

"Photographer Robert Benson traveled to Japan where he became interested in the spooky eroticism of sex doll factories. He decided they were going to be the subject of his next series. “I dug deeper,” he told Gizmodo over email, “and was surprised to find out that the nations largest ‘love doll...

Re: Doll tracking device from company

Furby hack

apparently Furby toys, those hideous talking furry pets, have been fairly extensively hacked.

has anyone looked at a Furby to donate some eye mechanism for our dolls?

here's a suggestion of a sound board that may be of use to some members here. he says it's from a greeting card company.

Re: Making silicone nipples for mannequins

looks like an interesting project and will follow as it progresses. the nip-buttons should make for a nice subtle way of activating the voice sounds. i think you are going in the right direction as i think 'touch' buttons wouldn't work through a silicone nipple. you mentioned vag buttons, i was thin...

moving with Jasmine

I recently moved house and thought i'd share how i packed her. Her boxes were long gone and none of the boxes were large enough to house her, so with a styrofoam face-mask (used for shipping mannequins) and a blanket, i wrapped her in cling-wrap (I bought a big 300m roll of the stuff). She was fully...

Re: failure leads to new ideas

I made my own from silicone caulk. i pasted it in a circle on the mannequin to make the base, then squeeze out and let it form a ball on the end and stick it onto the base. it was then painted with acrylic colors. http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/s581/aussiemuscle308/Jasmine/DSCF5316_zpswxfxag82....

Re: Eyeball modifications?

I put static glass eyes in my mannequin and it made a huge improvement to the look. The painted on flat eyes aren't very realistic and dead looking. I used a Dremel motortool to grind out the fiberglass and needed to grind a lot of material away from the back of the eye area. after struggling, i fou...

Re: A different approach to internal heating

internal heating would need to be included in the actual design of the doll from the start. it sounds a lot like the method Mythbusters used to simulate blood constriction from overly tight jeans (tubes that run around the silicone body). We got a bedwarmer... it is an electric sheet that fits over ...

Re: possible way to talk with your dolls ?

I don't think there is anyway to set up a WiFi connection here. My guess is this probably works pretty much like your cell phone to connect to the internet, No, it uses wifi, like laptop would use to connect to your home/work network. you can set one up anywhere there's a computer (shared connectio...

Re: I'm not sure about how i feel about my purchase.

Plastic won't be much harder to work with than fiberglass. easier to cut, might be hard to putty or glue, but should be more durable as it can flex. I didn't keep my first mannequin. when i hugged her, my face was between her breasts, she was really tall, i'm really short.

Re: Questions: Fiberglass / Plastic

Hmmmm....from reading the spec sheet, which I decided I'd better download, priming with the recommended primer, then tinting the coating, and spraying very light layers over the entire MQ, face and all, is the way to go. The tint added at 3% by weight and multiple spray coats could yield a good col...
