Re: Project doll: Foam body, plastic skeleton, sil cloth ski

Skin will be stretch cloth, glue tacked to the foam, then silicone rolled onto that.

Re: Large language models for doll speech

I'd rather have limited sex chat at 98% vs mixed general and sex chat at 85%.
Possible to have two independent programs?

Re: Audio for dolls

My 11yo laptop is stationary as the battery is shot and it has to stay plugged in. Don't want to buy a new battery for it just to have it crash for good. The PC speaker is shot so I have to listen to audio via BT speaker. I had to buy a BT dongle for it as BT was not built in. I then bought a 50' ex...

Re: Audio for dolls

Welcome to TDF! :glou: I'm sure there is a lot of interest as long as the DIY aspect is not too complex. And human voice audio clips are probably best at this stage. For all the complexity of setting up a doll with AI and animatronics, it's still lacking IMO. Looking forward to seeing what you come ...

Re: Making a mold for casting silicone heads? Project start.

Here's some pics of the head. Eyes will need some adjustments. I like the Right eye better, so will try to match the left eye up to it. Will also need to mod them to accept round eyeballs. Lips, nose and ears can use some work too. Overall a very nice shape and profile. I'll try to mod the head deta...

Re: speculating about motorised dolls

You don't need to have AI to have a moving sex doll. You can have prerecorded audio files and a servo controller. Activated w/a switch or pressure sensor. Random audios and random movement. Random audios with a scripted movement. A single audio on a loop and random movement. A single audio on a loop...

Re: Making a mold for casting silicone heads? Project start.

Hello James Glad to see you are back! :D I actually have that mannequin head/ face. Nice looking face and lips. I have made some molds out of resin, but it was polyester based resin which is used for fiberglassing. I have a gallon of the stuff!!! Made molds out of polyester "Bondo" filler ...

Re: DIY stuff

If you have the shop space and tools, you can probably make your first doll for $5K.
Add another $5-10K if you have to buy tools.

Re: DIY stuff

Yes, Abyss has many workers, but the 40 hr total is based upon the different jobs the workers do to build one doll. And they said at that time they produce 2 dolls per day. If a person has the talent to do all the jobs that require 40 hrs to build the doll, then 2 weeks would offer 80 hrs work time ...

Re: DIY stuff

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I hope you are able to make a doll in her honor. I believe that doll advancement and acceptance will only lead to more and better dolls being sold. I figured up the material cost of a silicone doll one time and it was about $600.00 max. That was silicone,...
