I ask for a standing version doll from DS as a special order. This means that she has screw threads in the bottom of her legs into which I can screw 50mm long 10mm bolts and not damage the silicone of her feet, other than the hole for the bolt. If I was keen, I could easily cast a soft silicone plug for the hole . . .

However, she's not self standing as the TPE standing dolls. She has to lean on something. The Rhododendron branches from the wood just about happen to balance upright themselves without falling over. So she stood by herself in the direction towards the branches and the branches wanted to fall against her, so that a precarious triangle was set up delicately and I had to be quick to capture the images.

Standing on one foot against the wall . . . I got her to extend her arm to the column and touch it delicately as a matter of safety but it wasn't really necessary. There was enough friction of her garment against the wall to keep her from falling sideways, although it could have been precarious.

This sort of photography makes me work fast, so that the photos aren't studied, and are more as candid snapshots of the girl as alive.

As long as a doll can stand without damaging herself standing dolls can come to life so much more than bed-bound dolls confined to relaxing in a studio or bedroom.
