Wrist articulation joint modification
Here's an interesting link http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 09#p880309 on how I modified the wrist articulation joints on an A.I.NEO im body to achieve a full hand revolution instead of the originally restricted 1/4 revolution.

Re: Wrist articulation joint modification
At some point I'd like to increase the rotational angle of Hanna's wrists. There are occasions when the small angle of rotation can be very frustrating and I have to work around it. I'll keep a link of this.
Best wishes to you and The Dream Team.

I didn't want to split the whole topic I've posted the mod because there're so much replies but this trick works in the same way.Mondoon wrote:Thanks for posting this SF

SO TRUECrazyCajun wrote:It has been my experience that most, if not all, doll owners are very resourceful individuals. It is forums like this one that allows us to overcome issues that mere mortals would simply cringe at, throw their arms up in defeat and walk off! The amount of knowledge and skills that are contained here is awesome for sure!

Re: Wrist articulation joint modification
Here's a follow-up of our wrist modification job on Mia's A.I.NEO im-body.
Thoughts to this project
As a photographer, I want to achieve realistic posing and this feature annoyed me:
The original range of motion from Mia's wrists. How to make the impossible....just possible
Sorry dear Mia, we need to do a surgery
I placed a small cut on the inner mold seam line of both wrists and soon the joints were freed. The original wrist rotation is limited to a 1/4 revolution but I wanted a full revolution. To realize this movement the original fixture needed to be modified to custom made swiveling joints The new wrist joint design
The installation was easy as I only needed to drill new holes to secure the custom made fixture to the PVC-tubing.
First, I reinstalled the hand palms into the slotted adaption and then I fitted the joints into the tubing. After securing the joints with a couple of short M4 screws a first wrist rotating test was done. The wrists move now very smooth and the desired range of motion can be achieved with ease.
The provided 4woods 3-part repair kit was used for the cosmetic closure of the cuts which healed seamlessly.
Mia couldn't wait to demonstrate her new abilities Mission completed!
