Hope that it's a good one with lots of plushy cuddles and sili kisses.

Re: Happy Birthday Midi
Denial - "I can't believe I am 60!"
Grateful - "It beats the alternative"
Apprehensive - "Is my beautiful young new wife going to help me live longer or send me to an early grave because I cannot keep up with her? At least I will go with a smile on my face "
Regretful 1- "Dang I need to diet more"
Regretful 2 - "Dang I need to exercise more"
Pessimistic/depressed - "Hmm, my dad is 92 and still alive. I am 60. If I live to 92, I am likely to to die a lonely man with no friends left alive."
Optimistic Calculating - "Hmm, my dad is 92 and still alive. I am 60. If I live to 90, I still have 33% of my life ahead of me."
The list goes on, but most important is:
Thankful - "...for all the many friends I have met along the way, a kind and loving family, my good health and good fortune in finding the girl of my dreams as I move into what is truly the Golden Years of my life.
Thank you everyone for thinking of me on my 60th boirthday.

On another note, I have had more people address me as 'old fart' on my Facebook than ever before. I admit, I have used the term when referring to other old codgers I've known, but I really never took the time to actually look up the term and see if it actually applied to me...
I caught this example - "I was doing spring cleaning and beating the dust off the couch when that old fart hit me right in the face."
and I thought, "Why would she clean the couch when some old fart was sitting on it trying to enjoy his TV program? Serves her right." Then I read the definition...
1) Noun - old fart
What you smell when you smack your hand on your couch, car, or dining room chair, seat cushions.
Seeing it was not my couch's birthday today but mine, I looked for some other more appropriate meaning and found this in Wiktionary...
2) Noun - old fart (plural old farts)
(pejorative, idiomatic) An elderly person who holds views that are considered old-fashioned.
I can live with number 2. For as high tech as I am, I do hold some rather old fashioned views, like opening the car door for my honey, tucking in my shirt and not shaving my head just to hide my bald spot

Also, the aging process does get one thinking as to how to simply and make that inevitable path the the grave as graceful as possible. I think I found my calling...
At first I thought of a wheel chair coffin so they could just close the lid and wheel me into my grave when I died, but when I saw this, I figured, "This is me...something that will insure I am not late for my own funeral " Cheers and keep smiling

Hey, what's the lap time of this coffin at Silverstonemidiman wrote:At first I thought of a wheel chair coffin
I was happy that the 2014 UK Meet is in September and not October, as I'm not 50 by then on the other side, age in inevitable, so why worry?
40, 50, 60, 70, it's just a number ... it's your life! And with Shawna at your side you'll be fine&great - even at 90
