My first attempt at a modification failed but 2 good things came from it...I learned the thread sizes of both dolls neck bolts and I fabricated a better solid bolt for the Riley doll. The WM Riley uses an M16x2 threaded nipple (hollow) and the JM Rose is an M10x1.5 solid set screw. I took an M16x2 bolt, cut off the hex head and cleaned up the threads. It fits in the Riley neck better than the threaded nipple so there is now no head wobble.

Next, I took another member's suggestion to use a threaded insert and looked for some with the right sizes, not expecting to have any luck. Surprisingly, I found a few vendors online that carried them then I decided to check out eBay. Surprised again, I found a seller and bought a 5 pack. They look rusty but that is thread lock compound.
My next move will be to put a threaded insert in the Riley head, cut the head off an M10x1.5 bolt and now I will be able to put my Riley heads on the Rose body. This is completely reversible and no harm was done to either doll.
I too am concerned about that eyespyone. So I will not leave that combination together for long. But the good thing is, where those two materials make contact it is at the top of the neck and bottom of the head so if they don't "get along well" it should be out of sight (unless there is a complete meltdown which I think is not very probable).

The head can look really different(like a completely different girl -IMO) with wig/eye combinations. I am thinking about getting a short blond with and some blue eyes, or just a complete new head to avoid having to change the eyes.

I hope this will benefit other members with the head wobble situation and give ideas to those wishing to try some mods to use other head/body combinations. Maybe WM Dolls will even take the lead and start using a solid piece of threaded rod in their dolls instead of the threaded nipple they use now.
Good mod jaybee111, My doll head screw is also in metric but unfortunately it is a pain in the ass cause in Canada most hardware store are mostly devoted to inches I went for the wooden custom alternative .
