Fabric hair / Cloth wig?

Post by Amberstag »

I'm curious if anyone has ever seen fabric-based hair that would fit a TB? No brushing, soft, can sew-in & doesnt fall off... To me, it seems like a perfect solution for a TB.

Something like this doll?

Hadn't seen any quite like that, but I've seen fleece versions. There's also a number of yarn wig making tutorials on the Tube. Thought about doing something like that for my plush gals.

Velour Vixens has been moved to the inactive section, but worked with fabric hair and is worth viewing for inspiration

Yep, and we won't be going back any time soon.
This thread by coyote9 started it all for us here:

And from there onwards we went our own way.
The first attempt resulted in hair that you could easily get entangled in. See the links by Carly's guy up here in this thread.

Currently Lian is still sporting the 2nd try, bangs and braid. The best pic of her featuring it is this one (eyes up for the hair! :P ),

but we are at v.2 now, new with small strands over her ears, looking a bit more realistic now I'd say. No pics yet though.

Also the plush from blankets I used is longer - thicker than TB skin, but gets matted way easier. With our amounts of cuddles, my babe needs a new wig every 2-3 years minimum.

I just realized ValentinaGirls has fabric hair as an option right on their site! I guess that's my choice :)

I prefer VG myself, but Robert will probably sell that to you separately if you'd rather have a TB.
