How Do You Save Streaming Media from Sites?

Post by Corben_99 »

Hey Jerry,
Do you have any tips on how to save streaming media from websites? It's weird how it downloads it to an area of Ram somewhere, and then it plays the video back, while online. But how do you force it, to save it to the hard drive? My player buffer only goes up to 30 seconds.

I was thinking that by somehow raising the buffer size to Max, I could then go resize windows virtual memory, and therefore cause force swapping to the Hard Drive. Do you think this would work?

I remember there used to be a program out called Stream something. But I can't seem to find it anywhere. I recall it had the ability to save streaming media Got any ideas? Do you know what I'm talking about? If this is a forbidden subject then feel free to delete this.

The only problem is I've come across several websites with some really good porn clips, which glued together would make some great movies. Just can't figure out the streaming though. I mean they are shooting the feed into my computer. There should be a way to save it.

Windows Explorer has a folder where the web content is saved. I remember looking through there once and there were 2 MP3 songs that I listened to and a video that I had watched.

It may be possible that it is stored there. I'll have to look into it.

I looked in my temporary internet folder, but they do not show up. Which is weird. If the videos are not streamed, they show up in the temporary internet folder. But if they are streamed, they don't.

I have a program called Streambox VCR that will capture streaming video, but I haven't used it for awhile. Do a search for it.

Hey Bill,
That's the program I was talking about in the above post. Apparently it's illegal to download if you are a U.S. ciitizen. And the official website doesn't have it anymore.

But I did find an unofficial site! But after I downloaded it, they want me to pay a fee to unlock it. Hey Bill how big is the size of Sreambox VCR? That way I can compare it to the size of the one I downloaded.

I did some research on it, and apparently Realnetworks sued the crap out of them. This program apparently allowed RealMedia content to be saved. Which Realnetworks didn't like. And they got some kind of injunction against it. Kinda like BLEEM.

I did find a crack for it, and it's not really a crack to open up the program. But apparently it enables the RealMedia part of it to function again, plus it fixes the spyware in it. This dude in Russia ( I think he's in Russia ) apparently dissasembled, and reverse engineered Streambox VCR. And in the lines of code he was looking at, it had the Microsoft Redmond Washington address.

Check out this link: Let me know if it's the same one that you have.

OFF TOPIC.

Hey Wolverine!

Do you overclock your gear?
If you don't, thats cool, however if you do then you probably seen this from the watercooled PC's.

Hey Wolverine,
I bet Jerry could make you one with his Milling Machine, all he would have to do is download that pic as a template. And resize it larger to fit any standard fan. You could then screw it on the pc case yourself. Just cut out a hole for the fan in the front or the side. All I did was a make a drill pattern on cardboard. Then I used a hole puncher to make the holes. And a black magic marker to mark the holes on the case. Then I went down to my buddies house and I used his drill press. I didn't cover it up though. The pattern shape was a hurricane. A circle with slanted pointed angles.

As far as that link for Streambox VCR thanks man. It reminds me of the one I posted above it. hahahahaha!!!!

That sounds way cool! Image ...about the fan cover, If I asked Jerry to make one special it would probably be WAY expensive. So no can do. Good Idea though! Image Image

Ya know for some reason I didn't see the link, Oh well, we both got the exact same search results...hahahah! Image Image
