Re: Lipstick
As long as your cosmetics aren’t in an alcohol base, any lipstick should be fine, especially for a temporary endeavor.
The stick lipsticks often flake, maybe just my application technique. So I’m currently using L’Oreal Pro Gloss to paint the lips. Looks good (I like 135, a hot pink shade), inexpensive, easy to apply, dries fast, and lasts well on the silicone.
I’ve had no issues with it, leave on full time except for touch-ups or shade changes. No damage to the silicone that I can detect.
As you mentioned, the powdered makeup works, but I don’t like the appearance as much.

What about for TPE? Both the OP and I would need to know.Treepusher wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2024 11:18 am The stick lipsticks often flake, maybe just my application technique. Re: Lipstick
I’ve used several common brands of lipstick on TPE, no issues. I do find less flaking with the pop-up stick applicators on the TPE, so those are easier to apply smoothly than on the silicone. The makeup powder works better on the TPE than it did for me on the silicone, applies more evenly, but it’s quick to smear/smudge if you’re not careful.koaplayer1998 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2024 11:23 amWhat about for TPE? I’ve not seen any damage to the TPE with any of the commercial lipsticks I’ve tried (Revlon, Maybelline, L’Oreal, and some Temu cheapies), and again mineral oil and QTips work well for removal.
That’s my own experience, maybe someone else has a better way to remove the lipstick.

Re: Lipstick
I gave it the old college try attempting to put lipstick on a doll, but at the end of the day I never got good at it and really didn't have a burning desire to.
And this is going to sound incredibly cheesy, but if you just want to touch up lipstick where the factory job is coming off, believe it or not a regular old colored marker in the shade you want will do a perfectly good job of filling in. It won't last forever, but you won't be able to tell the difference from regular lipstick.

Re: Lipstick
Use some mineral oil to easily wipe off existing makeup.
If you want a more semi-permanent solution you can try a kiss proof lip gloss. Applies a lot easier than lipstick, made for kissing and more durable than most other methods.
