How do you all hang up your dolls.

Post by AviatorMarc »

Hey all,

I get my first doll in about a month (ordered a few days ago). I got the 5’5” body frame and was curious how you all hang up a 70 pound doll.

Did you all buy a clothes rack or something?

I bought the hanger kit...

I might just hang it in the closet...

I have the standing option, should I just prop it up a against a wall?

From what I read, I see it’s bad to lay them down on the other side of the bed, or rest them in a chair.

So please, inform a newb what he should do to keep her happy.

Thanks, so excited to join you all in the doll relationship world. :glou:

I just leave mine standing, leaning against a wall with a pillow in the small of their back, that way the butts aren't touching the wall.

Buy a cheap white bath towel and use the blanket they ship her in - simply fold both and use the towel under her feet and the blanket behind her so the TPE doesn't contact the wall.

No stain, no pain. :D

All three of mine spend 90% of their time lying in my king size bed. Two lie flat on their backs and one on her side between them. One has been doing this for three and a half years and the other two for over a year. None of them have any flat spots or any issues whatsoever from lying in bed. I don't want to hang mine because for one thing, while I'm sure the closet hanging hooks are up to the task, if the closet rod can't hold 70 pounds it doesn't matter if the hanging kit can tow a truck. Another reason is I don't want to have to assemble the doll all the time. And last, one of the reasons I got my dolls was to have them lying in bed with me so it would defeat the purpose to hang them.

I've heard that leaving them in a sitting position for extended periods of time is bad, and I can understand that. It would leave creases where the legs bend at the lap, and sitting would put most of the doll's weight on the behind. Lying them in bed flat evenly distributes the weight.

I've also read that alot of owners stand their dolls against a wall with padding between them and the wall. If they have standing feet, it seems it would be a good way to store them.

I stand mine against the wall like others have said but I would suggest you get your lady in a neutral position (straight) before leaning her. I took Yukie from the bed to her wall and during the night her waist got twisted a bit - I didn't think much of it until she started to topple over (one of her legs went goofy and the rest went with her - but I got her time)

Like others, I have dolls on the walls with small pillows or folded blanket and laying in bed with memory foam topper.

I really don't like having a body without a head around. It's just sad. I like to appreciate the dolls full time.

Like this, with her feet on the floor.

She's too heavy for me to lift her up to a hook off of the floor.
and she's too tall to have her lean against the wall with her head.
And I'm not the type to leave her out in the open for the world to see, so...

Thank you all very much, looks like I will just lean her up against a wall.

I want to see if I have anywhere to hang her first, but my closets are full.
