Will the epidemic have an impact on the show?

Firstly, it’s not really a ‘show’ as such - it’s just a meeting of likeminded members with their dolls. Yes, occasionally vendors and makers come along with a doll or two but it’s just an opportunity for us to get together with our dolls in a safe environment for photoshoots, good company and good food, not to mention a bit of alcohol!

Secondly, though, the UK government has today set out some fairly detailed steps for reopening the country and economy. Hospitality looks at the moment to be last on the list IF the criteria for going through those steps are met! We are all keeping our fingers crossed but personally it is looking bleak now. One thing the government has advised on is no international travel for holidays basically for the rest of the year! That doesn’t bode well for those coming here from Europe either!

I think we’ll just have to see what happens the closer we get to September!

Hello gents,

sorry to say that we don't assist the 2020 edition of the doll meet.
Due to work, I committed making a change in my vacation plannings for September so that I'm not able to join because I'm on overtime while the meet is held but I'll postpone my reservation for next year in the hope that things are going fine.

The organizers are looking at the recommendations from the authorities. We are following the situation and we will decide later this month or next month. But even though this meet is scheduled for late September, it is doubtful if it will be possible, and safe.

Welcome to TDF Barker123! Everyone who's a member is welcome to come along to the Meet but you'll need to get five posts approved before you can private message (pm) Nescio50 to find out more details!

However, we're all waiting with some trepidation to see what's happening this year! Whilst it has been planned for late September, there are a lot of different factors that might still make it difficult to hold the Meet as normal - not least the European travel that usually occurs. We'll just have to wait and see over the next couple of months how things progress.

Regardless of the official meet and time anyone who wants to meet different dolls who is within striking distance of South East England, the middle, just 1/2 hour east of Gatwick Airport is welcome to drop in on me and my girls enjoy visitors. I also welcome art students to work with me on photoshoots and my girls enjoy the excuse for outings.

Due to the Corona crisis, the 2020 European/UK Doll Meet will be postponed until 2021.

Thanks Nescio50 for sharing this update regarding the 2020 Doll Meet.
As already mentioned in a previous post, I committed making a change in my vacation plannings for September so I'll postpone my reservation for next year in the hope that things are going fine.
However, everyone's welcome to visit SF's place and the gals.

Like all of us, I was sort of hoping we may still be able to meet up but the way things are going it’s inevitable that it’s going to be too difficult. Let’s hope the venue survives without going under with no customers for ages!
