Akane and Nym - Smartdoll Adventures

This footage was captured mere hours ago on a planet called Earth. A planet where a biological entity known only as "Willendorph" opened a strange package.

Terrified citizens fled the scene more moments after this footage was shot - apparently in an attempt to hide their wallets from these tiny, yet alluring creatures.

Ok, that's enough silliness. I decided it was time my smartdolls had their own thread.

To introduce them - Nym is a cortex smart doll I built myself via the kit/challenge last year:

My latest addition Akane (pronounced ah-kah-nae) just arrived yesterday, and is a vinyl Cinnamon Prowess smartdoll. She only just arrived, but I'm already mad for her. They're both so adorable!

She is stuck wearing mostly Nym's things till her own clothes turn up. More pictures, stories and bits will be added soon.

I also hope to add a lot more Gifs in the future and many more stop motion images

It makes sense to start with unbboxing. I wanted to gather together some of the photos I'd taken earlier too, as they've never had a thread before. Here's another older one, but not one from a challenge.

They're not that hard to make once you get the method down. I wrote a tutorial a while back that you might find helpful as it goes through everything step by step and uses only free software.

she is actually free standing in her boots in that photo on the table - no 3rd point of contact. I wouldn't leave her like that though!

Smart doll legs are so long, in heels, they get a sort of "baby deer walking for the first time" sort of appeal! By that I mean they sort of end up tottering about like they're on stilts.

I don't think the smartdoll plus has been released to consumers. The last I heard, they were making them for businesses as promotional mascots, but they were really expensive.

Thanks. I have to admit, they're not cheap - especially Akane, but they are so cute! The clothes are the thing that gets you though. I'm trying to keep them under control!
