Isn't it still the case that silicone skin looks too "shiny" or has that been addressed? I like the slightly translucent look of TPE and the way veins can be painted to lie under the surface... and I even question myself whether the semi-permanence of such detail is a bug or a feature (bad or curious bonus)

The piper silicone dolls have veins on them, as for the shininess, yes but you have to powder the dolls. Most paint/coloring will wear off TPE faster than Silicone.
